What is the smaller angle formed by the minutes and hours hand of a 12 hour clock when the time reads 2:40 angle between the hands = | 1/2 (60H-11M)| Here H = 2 and M = 40 therefore, angle = | 1/2 (60*2-11*40)| = | 1/2 (120-440)| = | -160| = 160 Hence the answer choice is (B).

A is two years older than B who is twice as old as C. If the total of the ages of A, B and C be 27, the how old is B?
It gives a simple equation i.e.
A+B+C = 27
=> B+2+B+B/2 = 27
=> 5B = 50
=> B = 10

Area of first square = 4*4 = 16 Area of second square = 16 / 2 = 8 So the area gets decreased by the factor of 1/2. This is taking a form of infinite geometric progression i.e. a, ar, ar*r,..... where r is the common ratio. Sum of areas = a / (1-r) = 16 / (1-1/2) = 16 * 2 = 32 Answer is choice (A).

r = ½ (3 p + q) and s = p - q
Lets start with choice A
P = q/5
r = 1/2 (3q/5+q) = 1/2 (8q/5) = 4q/5
s = q/5-q = -4q/5
r^2 = s^2
16q^2/25 = 16q^2/25
Hence, the answer is (A)
