I know some people who didn't do very well on their GMAT the first time but did quite well on it the second time. Test taking is a skill that can be trained and besides, there are few general rules for studying that usually lead to a successful exam.

I wouldn't say that it is too late, but of course, it always depends on the university and their deadlines. So you should contact the university directly. But it is true that you have to plan ahead, especially if you are a foreign student.

I guess the answer is A, it is very evident. I have to admit that I like those tests, I think the critical reasoning part is one of my favourites. I like it almost as much as crossword puzzles or sudoku.
