Wow, this is probably one of my favorite debriefs that I've read so far. It describes my situation quite closely. I even got a few tips (I'll be reading my MGMAT Critical Reasoning book now...). This also led me to learn about "experimental" problems, which I think is really nice to know ...

Congrats,Paul for such a fantastic score. I wish I could be as luck as you. Did you take any prep course or did you do self study only ? I think with the amount of information now available, I didn't feel the need for a prep course. Though had I not got a good score, then I would have definitely go...

How do you know when there are experimental questions on the two sections? You cannot know which options are experimental and which are not. Had the test takers known which are experimental, they wouldn't even attempt these questions seriously because they would know that the responses to those que...

This is a known shortcoming of the GMAT. Every now and then it may work to someones advantage but even then I don't think scores can move beyond +30/-30 range as law of averages would defy getting only the experimental ones wrong. I am sure even otherwise you would have scored around 720!!! Yeah, y...

Thanks a lot for your wishes, guys! Since yesterday, I have been still trying to figure out the possible reasons. I think that since there are 6-10 experimental questions on each of the two sections, there's a good probability that the questions which I might have gotten wrong would mostly have been ...

Clueless how I got a 750(Q-50,V-42)!
Hey guys, took the GMAT today and am absolutely ecstatic on getting a 750(Q-50,V-42). The success is all the more sweet because this was my first attempt and I am relieved that I wouldn't have to pick up the books again. I have almost got fed up of studying. I joined this forum in August, started my...

I AgreeBe very careful with LSAT passages and questions: they are harder and longer than GMAT questions.

Though of late I've been hearing of people getting really long and convoluted RC passages in the actual test which are much more complicated than the ones in the OGs.

The Veritas RC book is also pretty decent in my opinion and so is Powerscore RC (though it contains some sections which are specific to LSAT)

Generally, the correct answer to a primary purpose/main idea question should be supported by every paragraph. In the passage above, every paragraph contributes to answer choice D: a discussion of the ramifications of the forced evictions. The incorrect answer choices contain ideas that are supporte...
