That's awesome! Sounds like you deserve the score, given the hard work you put in!

Hope this gets you into your dream school.

Hope CBT works for you! I feel your pain, I felt so angry, frustrated, confused, and defeated each time a panic episode upset my tests. Argh, the tears, the self-hate, the whole why-me pleading (can't you just tell I'm female?). Glad those days are over! My sister had it too, and I helped her get ov...

sirisha, I think that's actually a very respectable score, and probably won't keep you out of anywhere! I understand that it's a personal thing, and that you feel like you could have done better. IMHO, your quant is great. I would apply with this. The rest of your app. process is going to keep you i...

jain.chakresh, that's not very nice! People come in with a wide range of expectations! And let's be honest, some of us who take the test are probably great test takers. No telling if we'll be good at running a company! Or if we have any other skills, really. I think exceeding your target is excellen...

And for what it's worth, our symptoms sound very similar. I'd get palpitations, nausea and breathing difficulties. I strongly suggest CBT. But you could also just get some meds prescribed, perhaps. I didn't, because I hate taking meds and am terrified of their side effects/potential for addiction. B...

:( Sorry to hear how that went, Sofia. As someone who has dealt with panic disorder, I can more than sympathize. I have blanked out on exams, entirely. And basically just walked out of them. However, I got over my panic disorder with CBT techniques I picked up from the web. You may want to look into...

Ashish, that's still a score that's well above average and something you should be proud of. Totally agree with outreach, your application process is harder. Ask me, it's what I'm working on right now. It's driving me nuts. :) I realize it can be frustrating though, but there's a statistical margin ...

ssp, thanks for sticking up for me. I'm glad there are reasonable/sensible people like you around. (Btw, I'm a she, not a he.) And thanks to all you others who had nice things to say. So to answer your questions: My math prep was almost exclusively from the OG. I did a couple of MGMAT tests, where I...

Inky, come on now. We all have different expectations of ourselves. I could tell everyone on here to be happy with the GMAT average, which is about 570. That's hardly helpful. I do realize as far as admissions are concerned, there's very little difference between a 710 and a 790. Besides, I'm not co...

Thanks, ashish. I know it's a good score, but it became an ego thing for me at some point. I'd told myself I wouldn't retake it if I had 750 or more, so I guess I was relieved about that. And realistically, I'd imagine to an adcom, it's all really the same after 730. The makers of the GMAT say their...

I took the test yesterday, and I thought the CR levels in the actual test and the OG were comparable.

I suspect you'll do fine, as long as your verbal remains fairly high. It sounds like you're in a far better position than I was a week before the test. Practice only the toughest math problems. Fix any weak areas you might have on verbal. Take a couple more MGMATs for practice. Skip the MGMAT verbal...

I wouldn't retake. It won't keep you out. I understand that it can be an ego thing though (certainly is for me!), but your time and money are better spent focusing on other things. You planning first round? Looks like we're targeting some of the same schools. You are my direct competition. Or maybe ...

Struggler, if I were you, I'd apply right away, even if you plan to take the GMAT again. Beef up the rest of your application package. I can appreciate that it seems disappointing that you performed under par (for your own expectations). But imagine how disappointed you would be if you managed a 770...

750, and where I went wrong.

Alright, I just took the GMAT yesterday and I'm a bit disappointed, honestly. I know it won't keep me out of anywhere, but I do believe if I'd studied smarter, I would have done better. Let me tell you what I believe were my biggest mistakes. 1. I spent under 4 weeks preparing (stepped this up to 4-...
