Question about recommendations
Hello, I am in the process of completing one of my applications and had a quick question about providing an explanation for why my current supervisor is not submitting a recommendation on my behalf. The reality is that I am uncomfortable asking my current supervisor for a recommendation because I ha...

660 to 680...
Hi everyone! Just wanted to report that I took my GMAT today and got a 680 (47Q, 35V), a twenty point improvement from my first attempt, which took place two long years ago! While I am not thrilled with my score, I think that this is as good as its going to get for me and I am at peace with the deci...

Best thing to do is to pick numbers. We are told that x<0 or negative, so lets pick x=-1. Start with the absolute value to make things easier. l-1l=1. Keep that on the side for now. Now lets look at -x. Negative of a negative is always positive. In other words -(-1)=1. so -xlxl=1*1 which is also x^2...

BTG Practice Questions: Question about Practice Tests
Hi,
Is there anyway to include incorrectly answered questions (without the answers showing) when creating practice tests? In other words, is there some kind of a reset feature that would allow me to try out those questions I got wrong?
Thanks.

The question stem tells us the following: Cindy drives roughly 290 miles. But that distance is rounded to the nearest 10 gallons. So Cindy could have driven anywhere between 285 - 294 miles. 285 rounds to 290. 294 rounds to 290 as well. 285 is the minimum and 294 is the maximum of this range. Cindy ...

I looked at the 50% increase every 50 years the same as I would look at a compound interest problem. I used to the compound interest formula to solve this. Compound interest formula: A=P(1+(i/c))^(ct) such that A=final value, P=principal, i=interest rate, c=# of times compounded per yr, t=number of ...

Thank you very much for your responses and for making me realize that I completely overlooked the information given in the question stem! This is something I find myself doing all too frequently. I'm going to try talking out loud in my head (if that makes any sense) to help me better focus... Thanks...

Q134 in OG 11th Edition
If m and n are positive integers, is sqrt(n-m) an integer? 1) n>m+15 2) n=m(m+1) Answer is B This is a fairly straightforward question however, I find that I am having a lot of issues with DS because I "overthink" things or assume too much. My question here is, can we assume that sqrt(m^2)...

I feel like its either B or D....but I am leaning toward D. B sounds correct but I don't know if we can assume that body temperature = retina temperature. D, however, addresses the light and temperature. Rhodopsin molecules are sensitive to light (photons) and heat (large surface area means that the...

Yes, you are correct. The sentence needs to maintain its consistency with nouns...so, exactly as you stated, because warriors is plural, citizens must be plural as well. Something else to keep in mind...I think its generally a good idea to stick to the original meaning of the sentence...in this case...

Hmm...I don't quite understand how you got your equation...can you please write out your thought process? In the meantime, I can share how I got the answer. So, we know that the ratio of Y:D is 5:3. I wrote it out as a fraction Y/D=5/3 and then cross-multiplied to get Y=(5/3)D. Lets put that aside f...

Ok...just to double check.... The answer is (5/10)^5 and not my approach because we are picking from set {0,2,3,5,7} whereby it doesn't matter which is picked first (prime# vs. 0). While, my incorrect answer would be correct in the situation where we had to choose 0 separately and then the prime #s....
