You know the definition of the length of an arc and we know the radius of this circle = 9. Thus circumference = 2*pi*9 = 18pi Say T is the centre of the circle ORP = 30 degrees so RPQ = 30 degrees but PTR = 30 degrees (isoceles triangle PTR), thus the two angles TPQ and TQP both equal 70 degrees and...

The median can only be an integer or halfway between integers. Because there are 6 numbers and the first 5 is already divisible by 6, the other number must be a multiple of 3.
THIS DOES NOT SOLVE IT THOUGH
It just help you eliminate 1 quickly

you are right, but with 20% being 538 you can easily calculate what can be 100%
You've said B, but I'm quite sure it must be C

B?
1) Compares only minimum values so x and y can be anything - NOT SUFF
2) Compares the max of x with the minimum of y and because the minimum of y is greater than the maximum of x, y > x SUFF

Answer is E?
Say length is l and width is w:
lw = x (surface of the table) and 2l + 2w = x (length of the strip)
but w = 3, thus
3l = x and 2l + 6 = x
because x =x
3l = 2l + 6
thus
l = 6

HI Stacey (and anyone who wants to comment), I'm applying to a South African MBA (at UCT) and would like some assistance in completing my application form. Let me give it another go. It is a Yes/No Question. (1) Not Suff: If the lines' equation is x = 6 then it will never intersect the sircle (thus NO) but if the line has a slope of say 8 and went through x = 1.02, it will surely intersect the sircle (thus YES). (2) Not Suff: They say nothing of where ...

I can't agree more with Stacey. Use Ursula's grid (somewhere on this site) and try and ID a trend in your careless errors.
When checking your answers and you're wrong, before looking at the explanation, do the question again - if you have it wrong again, it might be a concept error.

for a#c to be equal to zero and a <> -c, the numerator of the equation needs to be equal to zero.
i.e. because a#c = (a-c)/(a+c) and a+c is not equal to (<>) 0
The the following ust be true
a - c = 0
ie. a = c

One way of going about it is set r = 1
then V = 1/(2x1)^3 = 1/2^3 = 1/8
set r= 1/2
V = 1/(2 x 1/2)^3 = 1/1^3 = 1/1 = 1
Thus V is multiplied by 8: 1/8 x 8 = 1

Mensa on your application CV?
Hi all, Would you put the fact that you're a Mensan on you B-School app.? From what I've read in other forums is that interviewers (mostly non-mensans) will not even consider your CV if you do that (this is mostly for job applications). There seems to be a stigma around Mensans that they are arrogan...

The question should probably have stated: An integer n is prime if....Is n prime?
1) Then SUFF as n =2 or n = 3
2) SUFF (n^2) - 5n + 6 = 0
(n - 3)(n - 2) = 0
n =2 or n = 3
