n which books would you recommend for SC n Cr practice questions.... hi megs, thanks! if u r talkin abt practice Qs ... I wud recommend MGMAT(CATs) & OG (& nth else)... its important to do Qs that are CLOSE to the real GMAT.. just doing loads of Qs that aren't so close might not really help...

Hi Satish.... dude.. u r smart.. but im guessing, maybe you went the wrong way with your prep... the thing abt self study is, there is no one to analyse what you are doing wrong and point out on your critical mistakes.. and esp on the GMAT exam, you don't know what triggered your score goin up or do...

@ Alex - thanks dude @ Satish - bro I can't give you details for privacy reasons (I dun want ppl to be able to identify me)... but to give you an example.. if certain parts of a city in India have a curfew / bandh - so ppl in those parts cant get outta their homes - but the location of the test cent...

jus plug in...
i tried with 7 first and saw that x-1 doesnt become the median, so i went smaller (5 also doesnt)
and got 3.. but the avg wasn't in the list (also the Q doesnt mention "distinct") so i went lower to
2 and that worked (10/3)

just check the last digit or last digit - 5
and see if we have that last digit in any multiple of 7
A. $31 - 1 (yes 7 x 3 = 21)
B. $29 - 9 (7 x 7 - 49... too big) ... 9-5= 4 (yes 7 x 2 = 14)
C. $26 - 6 (no) ... 6-5 = 1 (yes 7x3=21)
D. $23
E. $21 - 1 (yes 7x3=21)

was down with A & C ... took A out since it mentioned that one was better than the other (training is better than latest equipment).. this is definitely not supported by the passage since it never mentions the degree to which each one can reduce risks..
