I think errors are due to sentences. the same number of inches per second; number of inches is equal to the circumference times the number of rotate per second. y the revolutions per second for the 35 one rime 28pi*x=35pi*y 28x=35y y=28/35x Now per minutes: 60y=60*(28/35)x 60y=48x The answer is 48x...

On this question it seems REALLY easy to me to fall into the 4 variable, 4 equation trap. What is the "giveaway" in the problem that alerts you to look out for that ? The fact that Statement 1 says Cm=Cp?? Just wondering because I don't usually "CHECK" every equation fits, unless...

I guess we can use the distance formula : For two points r,s and u,v to be equidistant from the origin r^2+s^2 = u^2+v^2 Stmnt 1 - clearly not sufficient Stmnt 2 - not sufficient either Combining 1 and 2 we see that s^2-2s+1 = s^2 -2s+1 and hence sufficient what "distance" formula is it t...

If I were you, I would focus on taking many CAT's. Take the free ones from Manhattan, Princeton, Kaplan, Knewton, Veritas and Platinum GMAT. But don't get bummed by the scores because some are more accurate than others. And, of course, take GMAT Prep. It comes with two tests and each is good for at...

I think the answer to both versions of the question is B First version: Let 1970=100 Then, 1980=100*1.2=120 And 1990=100*1.3=130 And the % increase from '80 to '90 is 120/130~9.2% Second version: Let 1970=100 Then, 1980=100*1.2=120 And 1990=120*1.3=156 And the % increase from '80 to '90 is 120/156~...

remember that you can think of percentage increases in the same way in which you'd think of just multiplying by a constant - because that's all that percentage increases really are, after all.* simpler analogy: let's say you multiply a series of numbers x, y, and z by some unknown constant. now let...

can someone help here? i manipulated the equations to look at option C. q-p < 50 q = 1150 1150 - p < 50 1150 < 50 + p 1100 < p p > 1100 if we know p is greater than 1100, and q is 1150. p could be equal to 1150 therefore i chose E. what is wrong with this process? there is no crazy multiplication, s...

I'm having trouble with this one too.....we dont know the total guests...so how can we compute coffee? For these overlapping sets - when do you use real #s vs just percentages? This problem seems to flip flop between the two. For example, they define statement 1 --- dessert&coffee = 60% of 75. B...
