@ parallel_chase I am little confused by the wording doesn't while 3/4 of all his trees are pure Fuji means 3/4th of 90% of x ??? as 10% seeds were pollinated ? 10%x = pollinated 90%x = pure G + pure F we know that x=220 198 = G + 165 [pure F = total F - 10% polinated] or [3/4*220] x = 198-165 = 33...

Re: DS 1
Is x – 1/16 greater than 5/8? (1) Four times the value of x is less than three. (2) One third of two is less than the value of x. E Question stem x -1/16 > 5/8 x > 5/8 + 1/16 x > 11/16 ? Statement I 4x < 3 x < 12/16 X could be greater than 11/16 and less than 11/16, insufficient. Statement II 2/3 <...

Re: PS 2
let the actual mixture be 1 olive oil = 5/8 vinegar = 1/4 remainder is divided among salt, pepper & sugar 1-5/8 - 1/4 = 1/8 now 1/8 is to be divided in equal quantities among salt, pepper & sugar Therefore, 1/8*3 = 1/24 = salt = pepper = sugar Miguel's mistake doubles vinegar = 2*(1/4) = 1/2...

the question is basically saying that a triangle is inscribed in a circle circumference of the circle = 2*pi*r = 4 sqrt [(pi*sqrt3)] pi * r = 2 sqrt [(pi*sqrt3)] (pi*r)/2 = sqrt [(pi*sqrt3)] [(pi*r)/2]^2 = (pi*sqrt3) pi^2 * r^2/ 4 = pi * sqrt 3 pi * r^2/4 = sqrt 3 pi * r^2 = 4 * sqrt3 ---------I pro...

let total no. of trees be x 10%x = cross pollination combined fuji = 187 pure fuji = 3x/4 only fuji = combined fuji - cross pollination 3x/4 = 187 - x/10 x = 220 pure fuji = 220*3/4 = 165 total = pure F + pure G + 22[both cross pollination] 220 = 165 + G +22 220 - 187 = G 33 = G Hope this helps.

M can only be 9 never be 3 because M is divisible by N Therefore, Odd/odd or M/N = odd. Hope this helps Sorry for the confusion I meant in general odd/odd could be odd integer or decimal but in the problem above it like u said its an odd integer since M is divisible by N. Dude, I was just about to ...

M can only be 9 never be 3 because M is divisible by Ncramya wrote:Good work PC.
One thing I would like to add is
Odd/odd = odd or decimal
9/3 or 3/9 but in the problem(M/N) like PC said it is odd integer since M is divisible by N.
Therefore, Odd/odd or M/N = odd.
Hope this helps.

question stem: M = Nk + 0 M and N positive integers & Both M & N are not divisible by 6 M/N = odd ?? Statement I N is divisible 3 this means N is not divisible by 2, hence N is odd, therefore, M is also odd. Hence, M/N = is always odd Statement II, this statement is exact replica of statemen...

Total female
160*15% = 24
let x people leave the room
x*30% = female
out of people left in the room
(160-x)10% = female
We just have to find the value of x
(160-x)10% + x*30% = 24
160 - x + 3x = 240
160 + 2x = 240
2x = 80
x = 40
Hence C.

Nice work cramya, I wasnt aware of such formula. Thanks.cramya wrote:I think the formula fo sum of even numbers from 1 to n is
(n-1) / 2 * (n+1) / 2
(n-1) / 2 * (n+1) / 2 = 79 * 80
(n-1) (n+1) = 2*79 * 2*80
= 158 * 160
n=159
