I'm going to be hitting the books around U of T's St. George campus this Saturday. Coffee, sunshine, quiet corner in the library... What bliss! Let's get our study hats on and party (quietly). Stuart, not sure of your availability but lunch is to be had at some point in the day... Cheers, Sandra

Re: Inequality & Word Problem: Gift Wrapping
(1) is not sufficient: there might be exactly 70 gifts to wrap, or there might be 7,000,000 gifts to wrap. (2) is not sufficient: there might be no clerks at all at the counter, or there might be 1,000,000 clerks. (1)+(2) together: Well, what does (2) tell us? If we need to guarantee that every gif...

Totally agree with Arorag except you don't need this redundant step: 6! - 6!/2.arorag wrote:Lets look at this way
6 H so they can arrange in 6!
Now this is uniform disturibution so 1/2 time G will be ahead of N and 1/2 N will be ahead of G.
Ans is 6!-6!/2 = 6! 1/2= 360
(1/2)6! is enough based on logic.

Re: connection between 12 and 21 ?
OK now seriously this cant be a question. There is something definitely wrong with it. That's cause the FULL question is not typed out. The "connection" is actually a defined in the problem as something like "the lowest common multiple of both integers divided by their products"...

I'm back in Toronto so I will meet you guys whenever. In fact, I'm back in my old haunt around U of T and studying my boring butt off. I really want to meet up with others because I need a fire lit under me. Studying on my own does not elicit enough motivation so I need others to crack the whip. Yee...
