Hi Danaj,,, Correct my approach... for example i assign ABC for each cart... I have only ABC is the only combination(i am not bothered abt the order) where i selected all the carts.. Here is my analysis.
10! = 9!3C2(two grils in one set and one gril individual) - 8!3(all girls treated as one unit) + x (set in which no two girls sit next to each other)...
So i got x = 39*8!.
Please correct my analysis.

(1st pound costed 6$=6$) and (rest 16 pounds costed each 2$=32)
1 + 16 = 17
6 $ + 32 $ = 38$

hey Showbiz, But could you please explain me... For a one lap lead you first divide 12/3 = 4 and then multiply it 4*9 = 36 what is the signigicance of which calculataion...what does 12/3 will give us...and why we shld be multiplying by 9 here..will lead to the result.... can you plz detail...thanks..
