Thanks, Tani, for your reply. However, knowing the IT industry, I believe I would like to hedge my risks and gain a broader worldview than stick to it. Even though I have 10 years of experience, I see value in a full-time MBA for a variety of reasons: 1. I want a globally accredited credential, and ...

After MBA strategy for a mid-career aspirant

Hi, I am a mid-career MBA aspirant from India with about 10 years of experience in IT Project Management (what else?). I am planning to pursue an MBA in Strategy Management since I feel I can gain the necessary outlook that would help me look at my clients' issues more holistically than my current &...

Got my official scores today: Total: 740 and AWA: 6!!

Seems like I pleased the e-Rater and the human raters of my essays too: just got my official report and my AWA score is 6, besides the total score I reported earlier in this forum!! I am very happy and would like to provide all help (naturally, within ethical boundaries) to anyone in this forum that...

Indian Percentage marks to US GPA

I know this is an oft repeated concern of many Indian students but how do we (or do we at all) convert our Indian percentage scores to GPA? Some of our institutions do not give very high scores in certain streams - for instance, the person who topped my batch in Engineering here from my college here...

Hi, I would just add my two cents. Even though I scored a 740, I do not consider myself a guru in GMAT (more so because I never scored more than 620 in my Kaplan tests). A word of advise - for a test like GMAT, do not give yourself such a long timeline. Rather, just be focussed about the areas you a...

Thanks Andrew, yes the hours I mentioned were during weekdays. During weekends I ensured I took one full test, some section tests - about 4 to 5 hours of study in all, and a lot of rest. Since all my practice was on the computer, and I am an IT professional, I used to feel very groggy at times (with...

740!! Here's how I did it!

Just returned from the exam center and I still find it difficult to believe I got 740 (97% percentile). I got 87% percentile in Math and 92% percentile in Verbal, so it was a fairly balanced score, though I wish now I'd got more. But no complaints - I started preparing exactly 2 months and 12 days b...
