I did it!
Hey guys. I just came back from the test centre with a form saying that I scored 680 (86th percentile, Q.43, V.40). I feel awesome. This was my second attempt and the first attempt was exactly 5 weeks ago where I scored 590 (Q.37 V.33). I think a significant factor in the improvement in my score is ...

How come the answer is 20 not 18?
((square root of 9+sqr80)+square root of 9-sqr80))^2
I thought the answer is 80 as the ^2 cancels the two square roots then I added 9+sqr80 to 9-sqr80 which should be 18 right, as the 9s sum to 18 and the sqr80 cancel out?

Is there a faster way to solve this?
2+2+2^2+2^3+2^4+2^5+2^6+2^7+2^8 = 2^9
I spent too long (in my view) manually adding up the numbers. Is there a faster way?

Data sufficiency (2)
Is 1/p > r/r^2 + 2?
p=r
r>0
I chose A by itself but the answer is C. Is this because the inequality would not hold if both p and r =0?

Sequence question
In the infinite sequence a1,a2,a3,.....aN each term after the first is equal to twice the preceding term. If a5-a2 = 12 then what is a1? I answered this correct but I feel that too much time was spent plugging in each answer so I can backsolve and I could have done with the time for the last two que...
