more than twice as much as in the United States---> modifies Ireland which is not the purpose of the sentence. Instead there should be the use of words such as proportion which will link it to the 13% mentioned in non underlined portion of the sentence.

Hi Its easy to solve by plugging in numbers: 1. ab is a multiple of 3. You can take any two digit multiple of 3 starting from 12 onwards and you will see that in all the cases a+b is also divisible by 3. SUFF 2. a-2b=divisible by 3;again you can plug in numbers such as 7-2(2)=3; a=7 b=2 and 7+2=9 --...

Lets look at each statement in isolation: (I)--gives the average cost of all the new cars i.e 50 acquired during the year. Doesn't give any idea of how many cars were sold by the end of the year. NOT SUFF (II)---gives the total revenue of sold cars without specifying how many of each i.e 200 and 50 ...

Area of the rectangle = 14*10=140 cm^2

given that a new square is formed with sides: 14-x = 10+x

x= 4

area of the square = 12*12 = 144

hence area changes by 144-140=4---> (A)

IMO the answer is (B). As the previous poster has correctly noted, from (2) we get:

If number of students not studying biology =x
then number of girls = 2x

we have: 26+x = 18+2x
x=8

therefore, total number of students = 26+x = 34

IMO (B)

Reason: if x,y,z are 4,5,6 then 4+6 (x+z) is a multiple of 10 but 4+5+6=15 is not divisible by 10. Hence (1) is insufficient.

If a fraction has to be a terminating decimal, it should have either powers of 2 or 5 in the denominator (eg 2^3 or 5^2)

in case of E, 128 in the denominator can be expressed as 2^7

According to the ques stem: Reading Intensity n x n+1 10x given 3 x 4 10x 5 (10)^2 x 6 (10)^3 x 7 (10)^4 x 8 (10)^5 x Hence the intensity of 8 is (10)^5 times x---->(C)

Since the ques asks for amount of time in minutes we need to convert 1 hour to 60 mins and follow a simple relation

x pastries take 60 mins

50 pastries take z mins

Since more the time, more number of pastries can be created, hence direct relation

x:50 :: 60:z

therefore, z = (50*60)/x --->(E)
