Is the info given below true? Do Stanford, Wharton etc. require students to affirm that their application is entirely their own work? http://www.businessweek.com/magazine/content/04_48/b3910123_mz070.htm The applicant will not, however, get accepted if the school finds out about the consultant. Thanks!

Thanks Eric and Mayonnai5e! GMAT Strategy section has a poll (sticky) on Practice Test. The views expressed in the poll and votes helped me plan my own practice tests. After taking up various tests, I agree with the poll results and it really helped me. Similarly, can you please post a poll to know ...

Just made it! 700 (Q46, V40) - 92%

I gave my second GMAT exam today and scored 700. I am quite relieved that it is over. I would have probably liked a point or two more in the quant section but I am more than happy for what I got. Thanks to Eric for this excellent site and all those who shared their experiences on the site and helped...

Nov 20 - OGVR RC 1-40

Thanks Eric for your suggestion. I checked the MGMAT fees after knowing about 10% discount. Now, I will really think twice before jumping for it :) They are definitely value for money but may be at a premium. Thanks Mayonnai too. I am trying to do the same. I completed OGVR RC 1-40 in 66 minutes and...

Thanks for the direction

Thanks to both of you for your guidance. I will prepare a plan today focussing on Kaplan 800 and OG review materials. I did go through PR verbal but I thought it was very basic. So, I might stick with Kaplan. Mayonnai, I saw your lessons learned link in your signature. It looks fantastic. I am going...

Thank you all very much - 630 (Q46 V31) - Disappointed

Hello all, Thank you all very much for all the help that you have provided to me. I got 630 today (Q46 / V31) and was disappointed. I was attempting to get atleast 660/670+. I was consistently scoring 34-36 in my verbals and 41-43 in Quant. So, it is a bit of mixed feeling. My preparation has been m...

In the figure shown, what is the value of x?

Found the explanation for this question. It was embedded in image file and hence the search was not returning anything.

Thanks for the quick reply - but can you please explain

The answer states The series you have mentioned is correct and is GP T = [1/2(1-(-1/2)^10]/(1-(-1/2)) Solving this gives 1/3 - (1/3)*(1/2^10) Since the sum is less than 1/3 answers 1, 2 and 3 are eliminated Now, the second term in above equation is smaller that 1/12 (difference of 1/3 and 1/4) so to...
