Verbal is no surprise as I am English. I scored higher in practice tests. I didn't study for this. I spent 6 months on math and managed...

Thank you very much, but I am still not sure I understand this fully: why can' t I reduce 12 and 10 to their prime factors and see whether by multiplying these I can get 24? If I do this, the prime numbers I get are 2, 2, 2, 3, 5, though I know (by looking at the answer) that this is one 2 too many....

Dear fellow posters, My test is next week and I did a GMAT prep exam and couldn't answer the below questions (which I think might test the same concept). Could someone please help me out? Also if you know what kind of questions these are please let me know so I can revise them. Many many thanks! Que...

Thanks so much for this - it is truly inspiring! I am a fellow lawyer and feel the same way about math (and hours in big corporate law firms!). I'm about to take the test for the first time and would love to know more about how you upped your math score. Again, thanks so much and good luck with yuor...

1 as prime factor

I am confused: in some questions 1 seems to count as a prime factor and in others it doesn't. When does it count as a prime factor and when doesn't it count please?
Thanks!

Ok, this is tricky because it makes yuo want to use yuor exponent rules and ignore the fact that the question is about adding exponents (and remember yuo can't combine exponents when adding/subtracting). My easy way to deal with this is to think: how many of each exponent do I have? 2 x 2^5 3 x 3^5 ...

Dumb GMATPrep q

Sorry guys,
I was just wondering whether GMATPrep includes an explanation of wrong answer choices. I can't seem to find one and am finding this frustrating, yet it is very possible that I am not using the software correctly.Just wanted to check with you.
Thanks in advance,
Vanessa

Thank you! Honestly, I think it's a terrific score and one that will not hold you back anywhere. From here on it's about the application I think. My friend who got 680 was accepted at Stanford and Harvard so you can go all the way. Thanks for having taken the time to talk about your experience!
