What comes after the colon does not have to be able to stand alone. For this reason when we compare A & B, in B, the sentence ...

I go for B.

far sounds better, i cant provide a valid explaination :( and will wait for someone else to comment.

I ruled out E because you distinguish between 2 things, not a list of things IMO.

OA please?

Hello, though unrelated to this specific question, I use the following formulae when solving speed calculations with similar conditions: If a certain distance (D), say from A to B is covered at 'a' km/h and the same distance is covered again from B to A in 'b' km/h, then the average speed during the...

Quick Question on this tho, If this problem shows up in the GMAT, wouldnt finding the mean and median of the figure take a long time? My method was to quickly deduce the answer from the figures. Since Figure R is complex I left it alone. P&Q are symmetrical. If you look at it, the frequencies of...

Let the sides be 'a' and 'b' and the hypotenuse 'c'. According to the question: 2(ab) = c^2 Now .5(ab) = 32 (Area). therefore, ab = 64 from the above 2 equation, c = 8sqrt(2) Now, c^2 = a^2 + b^2 2ab = (a+b)^2 - 2ab 4ab = (a+b)^2 (a+b) = 16 Now a+b = 16 and ab=64, therefore, a = b = 8 perimeter = 16...

Even B looks right tho :(
From the question X is greater than 3 and less than 11.

from stmt1, we get

a^3-a^2-b = 49
a(a^2-a)-b = 49
12a-b = 49 => NOT SUFFICIENT

from stmt2, we get

b^2-b-2 = 0
b = 2, -1

now only when b=-1 will we get an integer value of a = 4, so stmt2 is SUFFICIENT

So i think thats how we get B, but without the ans i would have chosen C as well :(
