Choice between D and E will primarily be decided by which one of them are closer in meaning to the original sentence. "but also" in the original sentence means emphasis and also happening at the same time. And simply states twi qualities are there but doesnot emphasise the second one

Nikhil, E is a strong word and sounds too sure because of the word "unlike". E is sure that x is unlike y. Now in the argument the writer is not 100% sure as he/she uses the word "would", "seems" etc
