Congratulations on the admission. Could you elaborate a bit on the merit scholarship. Your profile looks very similar to that of thousands of applicants just curious as to what made you stand out? Thanks That's a good question! I haven't received my admission packet and don't know anything about th...

Duke Full-time
Hey all! Interesting how similar I am to the last poster! I applied to 2 schools - Duke and UNC. I didn't have much of a choice because my wife got into Duke last fall. I couldn't be more happy to say that I'm IN at Duke with a merit scholarship! Can't wait to start the program and meet all the othe...

Other than the fact that you didn't use this site for your GMAT studies, your profile is quite similar to "maolivie." Maybe it's just a coincidence.

I think that this is a fantastic idea. I'm willing to run a pilot sub-forum to see whether this gets any traction. My only concern is that most people tend to be active in this community during their GMAT preparation phase and move onto other things after taking the test--which makes sense. I'd be ...

Admissions success stories
Hey Eric, I've got a suggestion that may be beyond the scope of the website, or it may fall in the Business in General category: With admissions deadlines coming up quickly, it would be cool to read about admissions success stories from people in the community. They could discuss their profile, the ...

Recommendations: Guide or let loose?
Hi Stacy/Amy, I'm about to release online recommendation forms to my direct and in-direct managers. I know it's beneficial to guide them through the process, pointing out specific projects and qualities that could refresh their memory as they write the recommendation. My direct manager and I have a ...

Amy, Thanks for your input. I don't mean to bog you down with questions because I know you get a lot of them, but I've got one more for you: As far as recommendations go, I'm actually not sure who I should ask to write my 2nd letter. My first is my direct manager at Xerox. My options are for the 2nd...

Dual college enrollment question
Hi Stacey/Amy, First of all, my wife and I are on cloud 9 because she was just accepted to Duke's Nurse Anesthesia Program! Duke happens to be my first choice, so it feels like everything is falling into place. One thing I noticed about Duke's statistics is that they're high enough to attract all th...

Re: Maximum Score??
Hi to everybody!! Allegdly this is not the proper section to post a question, but still, due to the nature of the query, I think it could clarify some important issues to a lot of people that might get inside this section. The thing is that I have realized that a lot of people got a really good deg...

Re: Admission likelihood between 1st and 2nd rounds?
Is it easier getting in the first round versus the 2nd? Is it mainly space restrictions and maybe psychological for the admission officers thinking there's more spaces left on the first round? Heard conflicting opinions on both side, just curious if you could offer more insight. Thanks! Quoting fro...
