Hello,
I am confused between C and E
Let x=4 and y=3
7x-2y = 28-6=22>0
and
-y<x (-3<4)
Let x=4 and y=-3
7x-2y = 28+6 = 34>0
and
-y<x (3<4)
So y can be either positive or negative. Right?

Okay...This is where I get confused...
Within 2 Standard Deviations - doesn't that mean within the limits of the 2 SDs?
limits are 30 and 90....so wouldn't 'within 2 SDs' mean that 31 will be the lowest score?

The class mean score on a test was 60, and the standard deviation was 15. If Jack's score was within 2 standard deviations of the mean, what is the lowest score he could have received? (A) 30 (B) 31 (C) 45 (D) 90 (E) 89
OA:A
I am not sure that I understand the meaning of 'within 2...

Certain oil companies have been called poor corporate citizens because they have opposed government action to limit global warming by undermining scientific research that characterizes the issue as severe. The first 10 terms of the series are -
(1) -1,1,2,1,-1,-2,-1,1,2,1 and the sum of these 10 terms = 3
(2) The 1st 6 terms -1,1,2,1,-1,-2 repeat every time.
(3) Since 1000 is a multiple of 10, we get 3 as the sum if we calculate A1+A2+....+A1000.

Product of the prime numbers
2*3*5*7*11*13*17*19
=(2*5)*(3*7)*(11*19)*(13*17)
=(10)*(21)*(209)*(221)
=(10)*(10*2.1)*(10*10*2.09)*(10*10*2.21)
=10^6* (2.1*2.09*2.21)
Now, 10^6*(2.1*2.09*2.21) is definitely greater than 10^6 and definitely less than 10^7, but is closer to 10^7.
Hence Ans: C

'A train passes a man standing on a platform in 9 seconds and passes the platform in 12 seconds completely'.
How do we know that the train covers a distance equivalent to its own length in 9 seconds?

Hello Becky, Thanks for the reply! The tenses make a little more sense now than they did before. But I am still confused regarding the construction of the sentence. Option E - Shouldn't 'them' accompany high-energy feed and milked regularly just for the sake of clarity in meaning? Thanks in advance!...

Hello Guys, I think that C and E distort the meaning of the sentence because trucks cannot come off the lines by themselves. A cannot be correct because of the word 'numbers'. I don't know but the word 'themselves' sounds fishy in this context. Option D - In 1929 twice as many trucks themselves came...
