Not what I was going for
After studying for several months and taking both GMAT Prep practice exams where I scored 680 and 700, I took the GMAT yesterday and got a 590 (35 in both sections). The worst part was the Quant (41st percent) because I was a math major! Not only a math major, but I went back to finish up and just g...

That's so fabulous that you are giving yourself heaps of time to prep for the GMAT. Slow and steady wins the race! I'd say the most important thing is to focus on prepping equally for all sections. You wouldn't want to spend six months prepping for quant and then forget all that math stuff when you ...

Since you have the time then you might as well retake and try to get an even higher score, but your other qualifications sound great and I don't know how much more a higher score will get you other than personal satisfaction, which there is nothing wrong with! Usually the top schools want a bit more...

I guess it depends upon where you want to go and what you want to do with an MBA. I'm assuming this was your first time taking the test. You won't lose anything by taking it again. If you feel that you can do better you should go for it! There is a correlation between your GMAT score and starting sa...

Just keep taking the practice tests until you don't feel nervous anymore. Do you feel nervous when you do practice problems? Perhaps spend a moment and analyze why you feel nervous. What is the worst that could happen? But for calming, Chamomile Tea is very good. Not only does the herb help, but the...

The sub scores are not questions answered correctly. Each question doesn't even carry the same weight. Harder questions give you more credit than easier questions (but you have to get the easier questions correct in order to get a harder question.

AWA is given first. You get a half hour for each essay. After they are both done (not each, but the two combined) you get a five minute break. Math is given second and Verbal is given last with a seven minute break between them. Once you complete the last question in the section the break begins. Yo...

This comes down to Math talk not exactly mapping to English talk. What you are referring to in Shouldn't "E or F" state " is the set of outcomes in E or F and not both "? is called an XOR which is different from OR. I don't know if XOR will be on the GMAT. OR means that the answe...

I've been flagging the ones I missed and then circling back a few days later (long enough to forget the problem). I do think that you should practice the problems that you missed so that you can verify that you did learn the lesson. Or at least I think it's been helping me. Good luck with the studyi...

I like your stats. But there is one that I wish that you had...what types of questions did you miss? If you mostly missed one type then I'd suggest that you go forth and shore that area up. If you were pretty even then I'd pick one at a time and try to get your strength built up. The GMAT prefers a ...

Oh no! I am so sorry to hear that you had to miss seven minutes of the verbal section :(. It sounds like you did prepare well. I hope that second time is the charm and you go forth and smash it to bits when you retake!!! Lol...I am going skiing the weekend before my GMAT (and I take it on a Monday m...

T minus two weeks 700 --> 750+ ??
I've been studying intermittently for about four or five months. It goes in spurts. I've not really taken a diagnostic test until yesterday (GMAT Prep). I hit the wrong button after I got my score and then erased my results (and I'm in software...go figure). All I remember is I got a 700. I missed 7...

In undergrad transfering is very common...I mean, I did it twice...but in a masters program it's not as common so they usually don't broadcast it because it's not an option that many care about. I know that both Kellogg and Booth accept transfers. I know this because at the Kellogg info session they...

I think that you should redo every problem that you missed until you can get them correct (and not correct by rote because you've memorized the problem itself, but correct by fully understanding the mechanics of the mathematics in the problem). Money9111 is right. Your hit rate of accuracy and your ...
