This a visualization problem and I had a lot of fun while drawing it :). The oranges in the third layer (blue) are the max # of oranges possible that satisfies the condition that they are rested on 4 oranges(green).

here is the shortcut method. IMO D Applying simple counting method, we know that 6 faces are available for 6 colors. So total # of ways = 6*6 = 36 Why 6*6? IMO D
Applying simple counting method, we know that 6 faces are available for 6 colors. So total # of ways = 6*6 = 36
However, out of these 36 ways we have to exclude the cases when the cube is colored with a single color..i.e in 6 ways
So , required # of ways = 36-6 = 30

IMO A
the "who have begun to clean up Frederick.." is modifying Students, an object of subject "A group".The object has no bearing on the main verb in this case, so the verb should be singular.

[(7 + √48)∧1/2 + (7 - √48)∧1/2]∧2
=[(7 + √48)∧1/2]^2 + [(7 - √48)∧1/2]^2 + 2 [(7 + √48)*(7 - √48)]^1/2
=14+ 2[7^2 - (√48)^2]^1/2 {as (a+b)(a-b)=a^2 - b^2}
=14 + 2[49-48]^1/2
=14+2
=16
