Volume of the tower = π5²*8m³ = 200π³ Since it's 3/4 full, amount of water in it = 200*(3/4) = 150πm³ Two things happening: 1. Every minute you are draining (0.08-0.03) = 0.05πm³ of water Therefore, every hour you are draining 60*0.05 = 3πm³ of water 2. Every hour you drain an additional ...

1. You didn't provide the formula. 2. There are two ways to get purple paint here: red from the first display and blue from the second or blue from the first and red from the second. Display 1: Prob. of picking red = 2/4 = 1/2 Display 2: Prob. of picking blue = 2/5 Prob. of picking both to make purp...

Denominator is supposed to be 4^y, not 4y
[(15^x)+(15^(x+1))]/4^y = 15^y
[(15^x)+(15^x*15)] = (15^y)(4^y)
(15^x)(1+15) = (15^y)(4^y)
(15^x)(16) = (15^y)(4^y)
(15^x)(4^2) = (15^y)(4^y)
Therefore, x=y; y=2 => x=y=2...A

Started out the way you did, but then I got confused. Just to be clear, so you're saying, B(x,y) and D(x,0), correct? y=28, that's pretty much a given since AC=BD, and like you said that distance is 28. But CD is not equal to 20, now is it? Say the origin is O, therefore it is OC that is equal to 20...

Same as what cbenk did, just a little more elaboration. Division is probably the easiest way I can think of solving this, afterall we are dealing with primes! Plus the question provides you with a hint that of the four prime numbers, two are common to each of the products represented. Let the prime ...

I avoided considering a rectangle assuming that the question would have made that distinction. Not to mention 42 seemed like too obvious a choice. But you are correct to assess that it could very well be just 6*7=42 or the other way around. I have certainly seen questions like "Is ABCD a parall...

Appreciate your input Cindy. I guess I just need to figure out how best to position myself and not focus too much on the one page vs two pages aspect of it. Yes, I will not be using an objective statement. I meant to ask about a "summary" statement - I've seen folks write a couple sentence...

27 integers. I'd go with a sets approach here. T: # of integers between 100 and 150 incl. = 51 A: # of integers between 100 and 150 incl. that are multiples of 3 = # of integers between 34 and 50 incl. (think multiples of 3 between 102 and 150) = 17 B: # of integers between 100 and 150 incl. that ar...

21 it is. I: Parallelogram with base 7 Since the base is 7, the other side is 6. 6 also the hypotensue of the right triangle that you will draw in order to determine the height of the parallelogram. However, no calcs necessary. Since 6 is the hypotenuse, the height has to be less than 6 and the area...

Requesting input re: business resume

Hi, I want to get your input on a few things: 1. What constitutes a business resume? Is it the industry standard 1-pager? For schools that do not specify a page limit but request a business resume what is the best approach? 2. My background is in IB and PE, and resumes in my industry usually describ...
