According to Manhattan SC:

to + verb is verb infinitive form. Inserting a word inbetween creates a split infinitive form which is almost always incorrect.
Eg:
I need you to quickly run out to the store - incorrect.
I need you to run quickly out to the store - correct.

if Va, Vb are speeds of A and B. And t is the time for A to complete the Km race. Vb (t + 20) = Va*t Vb(t-30)+ 200= Va*t. Solving above 2 eqns for Vb, we get Vb= 4 m/s Since it is a km race (1 Km). Vb(t + 20) =1000 m = 4 (t + 20) => t=230 s so the time for A to complete a km is 230 Seconds. Not sure...

For statement 1 case i. if x >0, |x| > 1 therefore x > 1. case ii. if x < 0, |x| < 1 therefore -1< x <0. so we have x between -1 and 0 or x > 1. stmt 1 is insufficient. from stmt 2 we get x <0. insufficient. combining stmt 1 and 2 we get -1< x<0 so |x| <1.
