Yay! So awesome. I'm easily distracted too, in fact I was daydreaming at my desk when this mail popped up. I'm going to try your tip of studying in different places, ingrain that habit. Thanks a lot! It's even worse when start daydreaming during the exam - which believe me can happen. Focus (and ca...

Great score! I completely agree with the "cross out the stupid sounding answers" method. That's what I used for sentence correction, it was a whole lot easier than memorizing all the grammar rules.

I scored even lower today on the real GMAT:(.. 430 - 16 verbal and 34 on math On 19 august will be my last chance to get 550. Sorry to hear that - you likely need some intensive cram course if you are going to get your score higher. Whatever you did last time doesn't seem like it changed much. I re...

I forgot mention my practice test scores: GMAT PREP 1: 480 (First Practice Test) GMAT PREP 2: 650 GMAT PREP 3: 670 GMAT PREP 4: 620 GMAT PREP 5: 580 GMAT PREP 6: 690 (Aha Moment Reached) I assume you must have taken the same test more than once? Generally, that would inflate your later scores and i...

How do recommendation letters work?
I do not have very much experience with recommendation letters (except high school --> college). I've read in articles where an applicants consultants will edit a recommender's essay (is this even possible?) or applicants will write their own recommendation and have someone else rubber stamp it. Doe...

It's very likely you were nervous during your exam. I'm not sure two tests per week is necessary. I would recommend one test per week, and spend the rest of the week figuring out where your weak points are.

Where you are currently will define what you need to do to get wherever you want to reach. If you are already at a 600 - it might be tough to go "down" to a 480 :O) I suggest you take a full-length test (downloadable from mba.com). That should tell you where you need to get. Depending on ...

I think you're definitely on the way to a 700 if you are willing to put the time in. 550 with 8-10 guessed questions in not indicative of what your score COULD be. Studying the topics you felt weak on during the test, reviewing what you got wrong, and putting pressure on yourself to finish in time a...

Yeah, the people at the testing center were a little confused when I arrived as well - not to the point of thinking I was insane though.
Anyway, just a recommendation for those in countries where it is socially acceptable to do so.

Right, a tutor helps you hone in on the weak-points of your GMAT abilities. They can definitely help - as long as you are able to help guide them toward said weak-points. That improvement is good. The next step is to go through each question to see which sections you need the most work on, and to fo...
