It's actually A. Regardless of what angle x is, B is always the midpoint on AC and hence also the mid point in terms of height, so its height is 20. To prove it I drew two lines from B to D and E. Now, CEB and BDA are identical because they have two equal angles (<DAB=<EBC=x, <ECB=<DBA=90-x) and an ...

I think in this question you should use: Total=only a + only b + both + neither (because there is no data about 'mixed' groups, such as all cars with a, which includes only a+both). Stem tells you total=60 (i) tells you (only a)= 20 (ii) tells you (both) = 30 But that is not enough because this mean...

Answer choice is E. At a first glance you can see that both statements have x^2 so they cannot really say anything about the polarity (+/-) of x. (i) plug in x=2 or x=-2 to get n^3(1-4)<0 or (n^3)(-3)<0; n can be positive so the statement holds, but we don't know whether x is neg or pos. (ii) x^2-1<...

imo D. To draw the conclusion, the researcher must eliminate the alternate explanation that mental illness reduces the immune-system. Perhaps the people he/she tested were actually mentally-ill; this would explain both low immune system activity and low test scores.

That's a weird one... where did u get it? imo it's B. If religious people had to take a day off every seventh day, rather than once a week, the system would work for the first year but then while everyone takes a one-day gap, they are still counting. Therefore, in the first year their day off would ...

imo it's A. To me, D is stating what is already told in the argument - that people without RDS receivers could not listen to the new RDS stations. The author's bottom line is basically this: since there are no new RDS receivers, there are no new people enjoying the service provided by the new RDS st...

imo it's E. While B could be correct, it involves assuming that no other country would offer a lower price (like country Z or something). E will always be true because it's not a conclusion about actions but about states. If S < D (at the beginning) then 1.25 S < 1.25 D. In other words, if both coun...

The correct answer suggests a way of increasing the number of publications, not their impact, in order to increase the chances of getting hired. Since the evidence in the question shows that the number is insignificant for hiring, it weighs against this answer choice (which is what the question aske...

I think it's E, but it's more like something I remember rather than fully understand. The comparison between irradiating food and cooking it is misleading because some foods get both and suffer a double effect, so the similarities do no justify irradiation.

Being aware of the time
Hi,
I have a problem of taking too long or too little to complete the test. Has anyone got tips on how to stay more aware of the time I take or how to manage time during the test?

Losing the modifiers at the start and end, this sentence is constructed in the following manner: Phyllis Wheatley's bending of A, B, and C suggests her range and depth of influences. In this case, the correct AC should end with suggests to agree with bending (singular), which is the subject. So I th...

Hi nano,
I'm facing the same time problem. I haven't taken the test yet but it's clear I won't get a good score unless I improve my timing strategies. Were there any tips in the Veritas course for that?
