Fraction problem
A certain fraction is equivalent to 2/5. If the numerator of the fraction is increased by 4 and the denominator is doubled, the new fraction is equivalent to 1/3.
What is the sum of the numerator and denominator of the original fraction?
(A) 49
(B) 35
(C) 28
(D) 26

They are both nouns and verbs but affect as a noun does NOT connote influence. It means an emotion or a feeling.

D is wrong because the correct noun would be effect and not affect.
The equivalent noun of the verb affect is effect.

I think the correct response is E.
D is incorrect because it seems awkward. There are 2 verbs together "they united based on". If "united" was an adjective then it would be "The Five United".
