1) x² - 5x + 6 < 0 (x-2)(x-3)<0 meaning that x>2 and x<3 sufficient provides 2<x<4 to be true 2) 5x² - 25x > 0 (5x-25)(x)>0 meaning x<0 and x>5 sufficient, provides 2<x<4 to be false 1) (x-2) (x-3) < 0 How can you conclude x>2 and x<3? Why not x<2 and x>3? Also, should 2) be x>0 and x>5 or x<0 and ...

Sum of even numbers

The sum of the even numbers between 1 and n is 79*80, where n is an odd number, then n=? I know we can solve it using AP. But, I approached it using no. of terms & average and was stuck. No. of terms (even) = (n-1-2)/2 = (n-1)/2 terms Average = (2+n-1)/2 = (n+1)/2 Thus,Sum = No of terms * Avg 79...

If u consider it to be a cube, with area of face = 40
then like you said a = Sqrt(40)

But answer would be B because you can find the volume of a cube when you know one side.

If statement two does not mean its a cube but a cuboid, then I would say E.

combine 1 and 2 x>=0 because you can't find sqrt(-ve number). you can but complex numbers are not in the syllabus:) so you are left with two options to check for: positive values and fractions for fractions if x^3>y x>y for positive values x^1/2>y so x>y^2 so x>y I dont get this. What numbers have ...
