No genius here, so take advice accordingly.

For #1, i brought this question up last week:
http://www.beatthegmat.com/remainders-t44324.html

For #2, IMO answer is C

From 1 we still need # of errors and # of customers in DB.

From 2 we get # of customers, so combined with 1, sufficient for solving.

I would actually think that it's 60.

Total ways the race can finish is 5! = 120. Now divide by two because whatever order of Bob and Marie, only one of them is valid.

How did you arrive at 10?

sure, formula for 3 overlapping sets: 100% = (A+B+C) - (AB + BC + AC) - 2(ABC) A+B+C is straight forward. But then you need to subtract by # of people who were in the overlapping sets so that they arent double and triple counted. We know the 30, but we dont know how many mentioned stability and one ...

Yeah I guess I could see that. I figured that the portion in question was modifying the first part of the sentence, therefore it didn't need to maintain the so, that structure.

IMO answer is D

Our decimal in question is .0x and we need to know if x is greater than 5

Statement I) .0x(10) equals .x
x=7 plug back into the original, sufficient

Statement II) .0x/10 equals .00x
x=7 same as above.

Same as you btw, test in 4 days. good luck.

100 = (56+48+42) - (30+x) (x is defined as those who mentioned stability as well as some other trait) 100 = 146 - 30 - x x = 16% So 16% mentioned not Stability and some other combination or 1 or both of price or speed. Lets assume they only choose one of the other in order to maximize. 42% - 16% = 2...

t + t + 2 = 18, so t = 8 (time on the first day)

r(8) + (r+1)(10) = 64

r18 = 54

r=3

#3 is interesting. I guess I wasnt the only person to do the weighted average. The way to approach I think is to consider it a "rate" problem, and we know we cant just take the average of those. Need total/total.

think of it this way. Ratio must be greater than 3:80. In order to satisfy this requirement, we either increase the TA to 4 or reduce the students to 79.
Since question is asking how many students, we reduce 133.33 (which does not satisfy the condition anyway) to 133.

I would go with C. Knock off A and E for comparison issues. Between B,C & D, I believe the comparison for rate is "twice" or double the rate. It sounds awkward to talk about a rate that is faster than it was before.
