Question for those who took the GMAT and got accepted.....

At the end of the GMAT you can submit your scores to three schools. For those of you who have taken the GMAT, where you contacted by those schools within a couple months? I have heard various answers for this so I would like to get some feedback. I took the test a month ago and I have not been conta...

Dana, I went through the function in the opposite manner.

Shouldn't the function simply replace the x?

fx= 3x-1, so shouldn't f(3x+1) = {3(3x-1)+1} = 9x-2

then gx= (9x-2)^2 = 81x^2 - 36x + 4

Why did you put the function of 3x-1 as 3(3x+1)-1? Shouldn't it have been 3(3x-1)+1?

The first half of your story is identical to mine. From my Kaplan CAT's I was ranging from 680 to 760. I got a 740 on the GMAT prep, then when I took the actual GMAT I got a 630. I was devastated. I felt good during the exam, not nervous at all, and when I accepted my score....up comes 630 and I was...

Keep in mind that the verbal section is judging specific rules and their applications. You may think that your verbal abilities are strong, but you may be unaware of fundamental rules in SC, or determining how to weaken an assumption, etc. What I did to improve my verbal: 1. Read. Read material like...

Kaplan CAT tests tend to be like 100x (exaggerating of course) harder than the regular exam... Have you tried taking a non-Kaplan CAT? I've always done poorly on Kaplan exams - even back in the days when I was studying for the SAT and LSAT... Other CATs tend to be more realistic and will give you a...

What If I Dont Report Scores To Grad Schools? GMAT Strategy

Before you see your scores, you can pick 5 Grad schools to submit your scores to. Well, if you don't feel so great about your potential score, wouldn't it be wiser to simply pick 1 school? That way you would be minimizing the impact of a poor score, correct? For example, lets say I would like to app...

[spoiler]Lets consider the OA. $892 was invested in Bank X at 10% interest for one year. 892 * 1.1 = 981.20 $1108 was invested in Bank Y at 08% interest for one year. 1108 * 1.08 = 1196.64 (1196.64-1108) - (981.20-892) doesnt equal 56. Can you explain how you came up with 56 with a spoiler, as to no...

maihuna wrote:CP of tie = 40/1.25 = 4000/125 = 32
30% gain = 5% additional to 32 = 1.60
so 41.60 for 30% or additional 1.60

Maihuna, CP should be 40/.25. Thats why the numbers got all messed up.

G = 40.

G = 1/4 Cost

1/4C = 40

Cost = 160

Sold at 160+40= 200 (retail price)

160+ .3(160)= 208

208-200 = 8

8

I ran the answers you provided and I came up with something else. I must be confused on the question. When you wrote "will exceed the annual income from 8% in 56 dollars," do you mean "by" $56? And are you asking how much was invested in each of them, rather than both?
