A Little Confused About How the CAT Works
Hi Rebecca, Thank you so much for taking the time to answer our questions on this forum! I have one question about how the test measures our ability, based on two different things (both from GMAC) that I have read recently. I have seen this post from you, which says that the tests tracks your abilit...

I took the Veritas online course and it was really solid. The materials are a BEAST... 15 books that cover every one of the subjects on the test. They arrived like a 50-pound box of bricks at my doorstep. When they first arrived I was like "What have I gotten myself into?" but they were su...

I can't speak about Manhattan, but I took Kaplan and Veritas (I took Kaplan first), and thought that Veritas was 100% better.
Send me a PM and I can tell you more if you want.

I don't know if this has topic has been beaten to death, but here is how Veritas compares itself to Manhattan, on the Veritas site: http://www.veritasprep.com/FAQ/GMAT-Courses/111,How_does_Veritas_Prep_compare_with_Manhattan_GMAT.html Obviously one-sided (duh), but a pretty thorough response to some...

Ian, I agree with all of what you said. My argument is that trying to divine where the test is going, because the OG has 19 more data sufficiency questions than before, is kind of pointless.

This exercise is silly. This is like studying a ten-year-old map to figure out how to get around a new city. The whole reason GMAC is willing to share these questions is because they're retired.
I think that anyone who takes this exercise seriously is fooling themselves.

They have written about this in great detail on some of the MBA admissions blog sites. I wouldn't get too excited about the broadband companies here. It is more likely that green energy and old-school infrastructure businesses will do best. Anyone who is applying to business school should consider t...

Deferrals can be tough. You really need a good reason for why you're deferring. But with the number of applicants this year, schools may actually like the idea of you deferring, so that they can then accept another highly qualified applicant next year...

Thanks for this. I think it is sometimes hard to really compare a school like INSEAD and a school like Wharton. Definitely depends on what you want to do post-MBA.
