I had a doubt on whether it was increasing 1.25 times the previous amount every two hours or just 1.25 times every 2 hours

Rain in inches
From 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM it rained 2.25 inches. At 11:00 AM the rain increased to fall at a rate of 1.25 in. every two hours. How many inches of rain landed on the ground by 5:00 PM?

Reason like this.
If x > 0 or x< 0 an equal amount will be deducted or added to the two numbers
but if y changes value then one value will become fully addition.. this is determined by y's sign..

think about it this way..
Just replace x with a, b and a+b
f(a+b) = f(a) + f (b)
f(x) = -3x
1. f(a+b) = -3(a+b)
2. f(a) = -3(a)
3 f(b) = -3(b)
for other options LHS and RHS will not match

regarding the number of squares that can be drawn. It will only be 4.
you can draw the squares with 45 degrees from x axis because then the vertex of the square on X axis will be 10 root 2 which is not an integer.
Question says the points needs to be integers..
