hehe in the same boat here, I´m taking my exam on friday the 4th. Basically I´m just trying to get hold of what I already have. This means reviewing questions I´ve signaled for whatever reason and a "closing" (hopefully!) CAT. I´ve taken a MGMAT CAT (the fifth) on thursday (660) and go...

Although I`havent took a shot at the GMAT yet, I feel the same way as dmateer25 about MGMAT Verbal stuff, it`s "philosophy" seems different than the Official GMAT material.

Hi there, have only done 2 MGMATs and 1 GMATPrep, while gone through all "official" prep material and MGMAT SC guide, so take my advice with a pinch of salt: Although I agree with most people who point out that MGMAT tests are the closest to the real thing, I´m not quite sure about MGMAT Q...

Princeton Review CATs

Hi there! I`m on the final stage of my preparation, so doing some CATs and polishing my weak corners (mostly SC hehe). I`ve already done 1st GMAT Prep (690) and 2 MGMAT CATs (650 on both). I just finished a Princeton Review CAT and got a 590! Needless to say, I`m more than a bit concerned about that...

Mayo´s response is quite in line with what I´ve heard/read. HEC is supposed to be the elite of the elite in France. I´d had a Connect 121 chat with the local HEC rep and he said that about 100 of Fortune 500 companies CEOs are HEC alumnus, I haven´t confirmed it, but if true would be pretty impresiv...

I think you are right, there is no need to know the mean for a worst-case-scenario once you get the range, cause with the range and only two elements you know the difference with the mean (the only thing, besides the number of elements, that you need to calculate SD) is just the difference between e...

May be you should go with the worst case scenario? I mean, say there are two elements in the set. If the mean of the set is 150.000 and the range is 25.000, so the higest possible standard deviation could be achieved with element a being 137500 and element b being 162.500. This will give you two dif...

I try to follow this advice throughly. Always when you see an equation FACTORIZE ,if it`s unfactorized, and UNFACTORIZE, if it is factorized. Always try to simplify whenever you can, and things will usually start to be clear.

Knowing myself I would have calculated it, but that´s a better approach. Choices under 3.000 are ridiculous. Chocies much over 10% of 3.000 can be supposed to be too high. Of the remaining two, one is exactly the simple interest, so must be the remaining one. Most blibliography says that, when facin...

It´s really not that big, since most of it is explanations for the problems in the guide. I find that writing a solution takes way longer than thinking it =)

Help me tweak my strategy

Hi there, greetings from Buenos Aires! I`ve been around a while and would like to thank everyone for the precious insight that can be found everywhere in this site. That same insight I plan to leverage on... I`ve ended my "orientation period" as I came to name the month or so I spent learn...

I solved it in a rather informal way. Let´s see if my reasoning is OK: The problem is asking as if it is possible to say that x and y are both positive or negative ( so as xy<0) (1) Only relative info, impossible to tell about the main issue. INSUFF (2) The same, only relative info. INSUFF Now consi...

Class= J(jrs)+S(srs)

(1) S= 4/7 of the total, so S/(S+J)=4/7. INSUFF

(1) S=J+5. INSUFF

(1)+(2) S/(S+J)= 4/7 (1)

Replacing (2) into (1)
(J+5)/(J+(J+5))=4/7
SUFF

Answer C

There are 15 Junior and 20 Senior students in the class. Total q is 35

Yep, doing my calculus in a hurry is one of the things that hurts me most too...

So... n?

(1) n+3>=20

So n>=17 INSUFF

(2) n-3<15

So n<18 INSUFF

(1)+(2) 17=<n<18. SUFF (assuming employees are integer xD)

Answer C
