Waiting to hear which school was lucky enough to get you :) -ngufo The game is over. I'm done and I'm in at the University of Oxford's MBA. Wow. I never thought this would or could happen. My dream came true. If the program will be half as good as my day in Oxford and the interview, then I'll alrea...

Just received my AWA score: 5.5 (80 %) So as I mentioned before, do not spend too much time on practicing AWA. But AWA is curicial during the prep and real test. 1) It is an extra ONE HOUR work in front of the computer. Please write the essays during your practice tests..sitting there for one more ...

Wow, that must have been one hell of a 24 hours for you. Even Jack Bauer would have been gasping for air under such stress. But you defeated the GMAT and thus make Jack look a rather everyday guy in comparison :). Congrats! M. PS: A little CR to lighten you up :) According to a recent survey taken o...

Very well done, champion :). Hats off!

It's a magnificent feeling, isn't it? Knowing that it's over... at last. Good luck with the rest of the process! And guess what? It's an even crazier ride than the fricking GMAT... but it's still better.

Congrats, man! And yes, miracles do happen! If you believe in them, of course :). So if you aren't a Doubting Tommy, your belief will be rewarded with GMAT points :).

You're above 700, 710 is a great score so you shouldn't care about retaking the GMAT. If you feel like retaking it, you can do that anytime after you have finished your applications. Albeit, you'll have to show in your applications that your English is superb. And your AWA score should be a 6.0. The...

What a pleasure reading your de-brief. People like you are born to succeed - I know you will have great apps, and go to the B school of your choice! You have the mind, the spirit and more importantly so the attitude. Waiting to hear which school was lucky enough to get you :) All the best, -ngufo T...

I think my profile isn't uncompetitive, nor is it a shoe in for a top 5. More so than having addition to having a higher score possibly giving me the smallest of advantageous, I am mainly retaking the test because I feel like I can do better. I do not plan to elect to have the scores sent to school...

Well, I retook the exam, scored a 720 (Q48/V41) and reached my goal of having a verbal score over 40. So now I "only" have to concentrate on my application essays. A much easier task for me...

Thank you for the kind words, guys! I just got up and put my GMAT books in a paper bag that will be left behind in my car in Vienna. A strange feeling indeed. But I won't need those books on my trip to Paris :) Keep up the good spirits, drink a lot of spirits (it can't hurt, can it? :)) and I wish y...

720 (Q48/V41) - I finally beat the monster :o))))

After a long struggle and a failed exam in November (680 - Q49/V33) today I finally beat the monster and am very happy about it. First of all, thank you guys for everything. Had it not been for you and this fantastic forum, I would have never reached my dream score. If I ever get into B-School and f...

Dear Marcell, I'm not convinced you are in such a dire position. Your GMAT score is a good score and the difference between your Q and V scores is really not that significant. With your college years being quite a while back, I think your work experience and GMAT are what will be scrutinized more i...

I'm not a native speaker either and have problems with the verbal section. For reading comps, strange as it may seem, taking the TOEFL iBT was tremendous help. TOEFL reading comps are easier than GMAT reading comps but you can get the idea behind reading comps and the "magic" inference que...

Re: Use of "I" in AWA

I've read various books on the AWA and have gotten different answers. Are you allowed to use "I" and "In my opinion" in your essays? Is it frowned upon? Good question and I'll see it on my AWA score, because both essays I wrote yesterday were full with "in my opinion",...
