Yup. I went backwards. This time I died I verbal. I did well on quant (31). Here's my problem. I've been through these practice books twice and I know every question inside and out. I'm remembering the answer to the questions but not the reasoning to them. Here's what I have: Manhattan SC, Manhattan...

Hi All, I've been a lurker in the forums and I need some help here. I took the GMAT last month and ran out of time for each section. I believe I had 10 questions left and only 8 minutes to go! I PANICKED! I was soo pissed off! Here's my score: Verbal: 31/58% Quant: 28/23% I scored a 500 (from 420 --...

OA is B
But the reasons they give it is really cryptic.. For 1), why did they use n=12 ? N cannot be 12 because N has to be more than 12.
2)Their reasoning is a whole lot different than 1. Why couldn't they use the same reasoning to do both.
BTW, it's DS: #128 in the 12th Edition.

connit, I cannot follow your reasoning. Can you elaborate? I get 1 but 2. eh. (2) x^3 < -9 If I use -3 for X, I will get -27 which satisfy (2) and will answer NO for "is x<-3?". If I choose -4, then I will get -64 which will satisfy (2) but will make the answer NO for "is x<-3?"....

DS: #97, 12th Edition
If x is negative, is x<-3?
(1) x^2 > 9
(2) x^3 < -9
A
The book's answer is crazy for both 1 and 2 - esp 2. Can someone explain it?

We cannot assume <C to be 90 deg. since there's no sign in of rt angle in that figure. All we know is location of A & A forms a right angle triangle. Since we're uncertain about which point has right angle, we need to know the coordinates of all three points. ::looks at the original question:: ...

In this problem, if you had another angle (30,60,90;60,60,60), then you could find out the sides of the triangle. since we are giving 1 angle, WE CANNOT ASSUME that the other angles are 30 and 60. Also, you could manipulate the image to make it into a 60,60,60 triangle with one point. you need all t...

I guess my problem is that C does not state what I want it to. Cause = Owning a Laptop Effect = increased pay This could be a coincidence or a case of reverse causality. But choice C says that evidence stated suggests that 1st thing caused the 2nd. I dont find that to be true at all... Frustrating....

This is a fun one. Came from the GRE (yeah i know, this is GMAT but this question showed up with a surprise): Column a: 4.1 + (1/3) Column b: 5.1-(2/3) The quantity in Column A is greater. The quantity in Column B is greater. The two quantities are equal. The relationship cannot be determined from t...
