Re: Economist: In 2015, the average per-person amount paid
The comparison is between X, where there is less money paid for goods but the middle class has enough income to pay for the goods, and Y, where more money is paid but the middle class's income is insufficient. Instead of trying to guess a reason (as we have no information on surrounding circumstance...

Re: If the average (arithmetic mean) of
3, 15,32 , N+1 /4 = 18
So 50+N+1 = 18*4=>72
So N= 72-50-1= 21

Re: OG-17 Problem solving
total book 140 = PF +PN +HN
LET HN = X
PN = X + 20
PF = 2( X+20) = 2X +40
SO total = 2x+ 40 +x +20 +x =140
4x+60 = 140
4x = 80
x=20 ( Answer B)

Re: GMAT Official Guide 2019 Set X consists of eight consecutive
Let’s assume that set X contains 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. Adding 4 to each term yields 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12. Now, we do the same thing, but instead we subtract 4 from each term of the original set; thus, we have -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4. We see that we have a total of 8 + 4 + 4 = 16 elements in...

Re: OG 1 < x < y < z
x=2,y=3,z=4 , which satisfies the condition 1<x<y<z
If we use this values in the answer options
A. z(x + 1) = 4(3) = 12
B. z(y + 1) = 4(4) = 16
C. x(y + z) = 2(7) = 14
D. y(x + z) = 3(6) = 18
E. z(x + y) = 4(5) = 20 So max value we are getting is E.

Re: GMAT Official Guide 2019 If the circumference of a
The perimeter of the circle = 25π
2πr = 25π
So r= 25/2 so Diameter = 2* 25/2 = 25
So the perimeter of the square = 4a = 4* 25 = 100

Re: GMAT Official Guide 2019 In a set of 24 cards, each
from 1 to 24: div by 2 and 3 means divisible by 6 = 6,12,18,24
Div by 7 = 7, 14, 21
So total number div by 2,3 or 7 = 4+3 =7
And total number of cards = 24
So probably = number of success/ total number = 7/24

Re: GMAT Official Guide 2019 From 2000 to 2003, the number
2000- 2003 : 1/4 increase Let in 2000 employees = X so increased 1/4 means increased x/4 so total = x+ x/4 = 5x/4 2003-- 2006 : decrease by 1/3 So decrease from 5x/4 (5x/4)* 1/3 = 5x/12 (decreased value) so remaining : 5x/4 - 5x/12 = 10x/12 This 10x/12 =100 employee's So x = 120. ( so in 2000 total ...

Re: GMAT Official Guide 2019 During a recent storm, 9
Median is noting but: the middle most value of a ascending or descending order of arranged set. So here we can arrange the value with: 12, 16, 18, 25, 27, 29, 34, 35, 46 : so the middle most value is : 27 For example this set is of 10 elements: 12, 16, 18, 25, 27, 29, 34, 35, 46, 54 = Now the median...
