Someone else asked this question recently and one of the MGMAT people responded. Stacey, I think. She said that you can reset the tests and take them as many times as you wish.

The test doesn't score based on how many questions you get wrong or right, but on the difficulty level of the questions you get right.

I wonder if you could just use your hand as an eraser if you need to, or maybe wear long sleeves that day. A good old spit and a rub...

Or you could just ask the proctor for a new pad, I suppose. :)

I agree with mpaudena. Dissect everything you do in practice! That's how you're going to learn exactly why the 1/100 is taken into account in that final equation. Learn exactly what's going on in all the algebra steps for each problem even if you end up plugging in numbers on an exam for more speed....

It depends on what the question is asking. Stockmoose's question is asking for the final price of an item and not for the actual percent value, so his answer choices are already in percent form, and he's just plugging in for the numerator, x. So by using this formula for percents: (Final Price) = (P...

Well if you used 25/100 and then put that over 100, it would actually be 25/10000 which would be equal to 0.0025. 0.0025 would be 0.25 percent and not 25 percent. The reason you would know to put 25/100 is due to the definition of percent, or per cent = per one hundred (cent such as in century = 100...

I'm actually going over more of the grammar rules right now since I don't always know the technicalities of why I've gotten something right or wrong. Many times I know the right answer because it sounds right and I've seen and heard it used correctly hundreds of times, but I don't always know why, s...

Working backwards from original equation: [10000z + 100z(25-y) - 25yz] / 10000 Distribute the 10000 as the denominator for each term and distribute 100z with each term in (25-y): 10000z/10000 + 100(25)z/10000 - 100zy/10000 - 25xy/10000 Now reduce the fractions for each term since originally 10000 wa...

You wouldn't want to plug in 25/100 into the answer equation because the answer equation already accounts for the 1/100 from the algebra derivations, so in this case you would just plug in the 25 for the x: [10000z + 100z(25-y) - 25yz] / 10000 If you were to work backwards in place of x, you would e...

You will use these values in the equation: z = original amount x percent = x/100 y percent = y/100 Then you will set up this equation: z + z(x/100) - ([z + z(x/100)][y/100]) Basically what you are doing is first taking x percent of z and adding the result to the original amount, z, and then subtract...

When you see a question that asks, "What is 25% of X?" then you are going to want to either convert to the decimal number or use 25/100 in the equation. Either method would work, and you would decide which to use based on which calculation would be easiest for you for a particular problem....

Why would you give up now when you are just at the point of moving forward? You were able to learn to communicate in English, so I have no doubt you can learn to get better at verbal on the GMAT! It will just take some analyzation and practice. Remember, most people never really feel completely read...

It sounds like you don't have fundamental issues with math in general, so that's good. Competition math techniques are probably a bit different than GMAT math techniques though, so you're probably right that learning the how of taking the test would be a lot of help. You also shouldn't have the &quo...
