Ignore your Kaplan scores. They're not a good indicator, especially for verbal. Princeton Review and GMATPrep will be much more accurate.

Very cool.
I don't even remember learning permutations and combinations in school, so I'll have to check out MGMAT's math guide as well. Thank!

I would drop OG 10 just because it's out of date and too easy. GMAT math is definitely harder now. Do the Princeton Review tests instead of Kaplan. They are much more like the real thing. They're also better for verbal prep, esp RC. The Manhattan SC book is good, from what I hear. 3-4 hours a day mi...

That depends...have you started the course yet? If not, then yes, you should be able to get a refund. If it's started, you'll have a harder time.
Either way, you need to call them to be sure. Check their site, too.

A word of warning on the power/protein bars....the energy bars with high protein can trigger serious stomach distress! Gas, an urgent need to go to the bathroom, or both. It seems to build up over time with some bars, but many can cause rather embarassing (and odiferous!) gas right away. I had a co-...

A few clarifications: You can bring food to the testing center; you just can't take it inside the testing ROOM. They have lockers you can put your things in, including food. So yes, bring some. You get two breaks...use them! Bathroom, quick snack and drink, stretch. Recommended food: an apple, grano...

I would agree with Eric. Use the Kaplan and Princeton Review tests, but only go by the PR tests for your potential score. They are definitely more like the real thing, in all aspects...scoring algorithm, difficulty level of questions, and realisticness (I totally just made that word up) of the quest...

I don't think all verbal vs. all math matters so much as doing one question type at a time for 1-2 hours. Focus on just algebra, then just critical reasoning, or whatever. Get into the swing of things on just one type and you'll see the mistakes you're making much faster. It doesn't matter if you do...

I would not really expect your score to go from 640 to 700 in a matter of days. You've made nice progress in the past week, but 640 to 700 is a big leap. You don't need 700 to be competitive. It's a mythical magic number. A 670 is competitive at most schools. By all means, aim high. But focus on wha...

I think Barrons is good for GRE, but not GMAT.
For GMAT, stick to official materials as you have, plus GMATPrep as Eric said, and get Cracking the GMAT instead of Barrons. The tests and tips are better in my experience.
