Hi everyone: Here is how I would approach the question: step 1 : Read the question stem: the question is asking to pick the choice that does NOT provide a basis to object using SOME lists (we haven't read the body of the question yet) to measure hospital care quality. Another way (an easier way) is ...

Thanks for the clarification Kevin. Indeed there is little tolerance for errors in GMAT for anyone who hopes to score above 700. But you do agree that the score weighting is asymmetric along the length of the test, don't you.

Dear aim-wsc:
I am sorry for not having responded to this sooner. I have been having "technical difficulties" while on my busines travels (read "I was clueless without my IT support staff"). Thanks Eric for saving me from a mob lynch.
My analysis follows in the next email.

Thanks lan0583: I am glad you like the strategy. I would not recommend this strategy on every question if you have limited time to prepare for the test. It takes a bit of practice to do this type of structural breakdown quickly. (We make our students practice hundreds of questions with this approach...

No the sentence is correct. What I showed was how errors could be introduced. By analyzing the structure of this CORRECT sentence, you acn anticipate errors showing up in a similar sentence in the test. Basically it keeps you a step ahead of the question creators.
Hope that clarifies it for you.

Kevin: Welcome to the forum. I am quite impressed by your credentials. I completely agree with your comment on the 8-question myth. I wanted to clarify something, however. The state-of-the-art computer adaptive testing theory postulates that CAT is more efficient. Part of the efficiency comes from t...

Dear SummerSquall I absolutely agree with you that I have a point of view here (even though it is based on some data, it is still MY point of view). I also agree that some (though not all) Princeton review materials are good. In particular, I like their grammar refresher. Their computer adptive test...

what is the BEST in-class program?
I have been teaching GMAT for several years and have taught more than two hundred students for several test prep companies. Over the years, I have heard students talking about the "good" in-class porgrams and the "bad" in-class programs. I would like to hear from the forum member...

In-class course versus Self-prep versus private tutoring
I agree with Eric and others on the forum that if you have the discipline and time commitment to do the preparation yourself, there are plenty of resources on the web for that. This website is definitely one of the most helpful ones out there (there are a few others that I can recommend). But for a ...

You are close on both the answers. In "different" is an adjective and "think" is a verb. You need an adverb here. Differently is the right answer. Similiarly, good is an ajective that is "trying" to modify the verb "hit". We should use an adverb...something li...

Role of instincts in CR (and other verbal questions)
Instincts, gut feel, intuition, or whatever else we may call it...it comes from deep rooted experiences, in this case with the English language. If you have had an excellent English teacher AND you kept abreast of the language over the years, your gut feel or instinct should lead you t right answer....
