Setting Up Your Scratch Pad
I had seen a link to a great blog about how to set up your scratch pad a couple of weeks ago here and I can't find the thread I got the link from now. Can anyone lend a hand? The layout included a quick reference for timing for each section and I was wanting to try it out on my next mock CAT. Thank ...

Why isnt B relevant? If efficiency increases, it will hamper the demand for generator even if the demand for solar power increases B effectively refutes the argument. The question is looking for a statement that supports the assumption that the production levels of the US manufacturers will remain ...

I know what you mean about wanting to hit a certain score for your personal reasons, it makes shelling out the cash for the test a little less painful. I had just wanted to make sure you weren't thinking you needed a 700+ score to get in to UBC... I've run across a couple of people who have complete...

Ashycid, If you are looking at UBC I believe the average GMAT is in the low six hundreds with a 550 minimum. I looked at both UBC and SFU's programs and in general it seems that the GMAT requirement for both schools is quite a bit lower than most of the US schools. I know for me I want to bump my sc...

Hi Ryn, I'm facing something similar with my verbal score in Magoosh. I would say try taking another CAT. My scores on my practice CATS have been going up where the calculated score in Magoosh has been pretty much stuck. I attribute part of my plateau in Magoosh to the fact that I'm not as focused w...

I would say it sounds like you have a good plan. And don't worry I get the panic, I nearly gave myself a heart attack after my first CAT because my verbal was WAY lower then I thought it would be. I fully admit I was cocky going in to it because of my background (I went to school to be an English te...

Hey Nadine, The question breakdown looks about right but the experts can definitely comment better than I can. Study schedule wise I'm working from Magoosh's 3 month study schedule. I've got a premium subscription to their lessons and I really like their product but I don't know what resources you l...

I'm not going to lie devoting the time to really logic your way through questions sucks at first. I had about a week and half when I first started the process where I was completely discouraged. I'm usually really strong in verbal content so when I found myself struggling a bit with the GMAT style q...

Hey Nadine, If you need any moral support feel free to message me. I'm a fellow Canadian (west coast though) writing the same day as you! To put in my two cents on the verbal section, I've found it helpful to spend a good chunk of time reviewing the questions I get wrong in practice. I go through ea...

I'm a bit similar to you in terms of the verbal section. I'm usually very strong with verbal questions but I've found that the GMAT style of questions has thrown me for a bit of a loop. I'm at the two month mark of my studies (I write in six weeks) and honestly I've found that taking the time to rea...

It may sound a bit silly but read. Traditionally I have no issues with CR type questions on tests and even I'm finding that the GMAT questions can be really tough. I've gotten back in the habit of reading a bit every day and it's helping to flex the mental muscles I need for the whole verbal portion...

Neilsheth2 - The second paragraph states that the AFL subscribed to voluntarist views. It also states that the AFL disagreed with the AALL views. From that you can conclude that the AALL would disagree with the voluntarist viewpoint held by the AFL as the two disagree on the subject of health insura...

Amazing what two weeks can do. I did another CAT this morning and came out with a score of 620 (Q 39, V 35, and IR 4). I was thrown by my essay as the prompt was on a subject I know a lot about so I had to work to keep my response confined to the information in the prompt. I didn't do my best work t...

I write my first GMAT July 23rd. I'll have put in just over 3 months study at that point. The school I'm aiming for doesn't have a super high GMAT requirement (in general I don't find Canadian schools are as focused on high GMAT score than their US counterparts) so I'm hoping to be one and done.
