Q1
consider statement 1
if AB= 3 and BC =2
area of smaller = pi.Ab^2
and area of larger = pi.(AB + BC)^2)
so we can subtract and get the desired area.
Statement b does not help because we can't calculate area of smaller with this.

x^4y^2 - (xy)^2 take the second term (xy)^2 = x^2 y^2 and x^4 in first term can be written as X^2 * X^2 so the equation can be written as X^2 * X^2 * y^2 - x^2 y^2 we can take out x^2 y^2 so the equn becomes x^2 y^2(X^2 - 1) if u have difficulty in factoring out, consider x^2 y^2 = a so the equn is ...

x^4y^2 - (xy)^2
--------------------
x^3 y^2
This reduces to x^2y^2(x^2 -1)
-------------------
x^3y^2
cancel x^2y^2 from num and denominator
we have
[x^2-1]/x
this is equal to x-1/x
and hence can be solved when x is known

Let Items Produced last week l and items produced this week be t
and let cost per item (1-36) be x $.
Then
36x +(l-36)3x/2 = 480
and
36x +(t-36)3x/2 = 510
Since t = l+2
we can solve for x = 10$
Back substitution in 1 gives l = 44.
So i think C is the correct answer.
