Re: GREAT GREAT SCORE
I have registered for 22nd November as my test date and I think I do completely agree with you regarding staying relaxed in the test. Almost everyone knows the material on the test but not everyone can keep their cool when it is twisted and given to them Congratulations on a wonderful score and a v...

If it makes you feel any better. I've been pretty much useless since I wrote the GMAT (both at work and on the apps side) Gonna have to pick it up again this weekend Haha, you must think I revel in others' laziness... definitely not the case. I guess even a small amount of misery loves company. Hop...

Haha, same story over here! But awesome to hear that my toughest competition is slacking a bit too =PBlueRain wrote:Congrats! Man, I've slacking off for a bit since I got done with GMAT. I need to focus on the application again given so many people with high scores this year.
Best of luck!

Wow, just a quick comment, seeing all the high scores posted in the forum recently... definitely a competitive year for business school this year. You guys better not apply to the same schools I am trying to get into! :P I was thinking the same exact thing. I think this will just be good for us in ...

Almost forgot... big ups to LSB & BlueRain ! These guys both gave me sage advice on the days leading up to my test. Both are super smart and put up solid write-ups... recommended reads for sure: LSB: http://www.beatthegmat.com/750-q48-v46-t17715.html BlueRain: http://www.beatthegmat.com/experien...

End Game: 770 / Q48 / V48 / AWA5.5 (New Approach)
Got a 770 on the real thing. Q was down @ 48 (from Q49-50 on prep tests), but the V48 was about what I expected (47-48 on GMATPrep). Since there's a wealth of information out there already, I'll only share my own deductions/discoveries. -- My prep consisted of ~1 week of info-gathering, ~2 weeks of ...

Thanks Stuart & Stacey. I always find myself surprised by how much easier the Q section is if you've internalized the tricks and shun the pressure. Got a Q48 (down from Q49-50 on prep tests) on the real thing, but that's while being fairly relaxed throughout the test, hardly writing anything dow...

Ended up getting a V48 on the real thing -- I highly doubt that it's been made more difficult. Maybe it's time to lock this thread up.

If you score 720+ and put together a strong application package, then the top 15 schools are reasonable for you. Your work experience is not a negative, but you need to ensure you are presenting effectively and leveraging it to your advantage as a positive differentiator. Finally, being 24 at matri...

A new approach to an old question
This RE: If each term in the sum a1 + a2 + … + an is either 7 or 77 and the sum equals 350, which of the following could be equal to n? A.38 B.39 C.40 D.41 E.42 -- The way I approached this problem was: the units digit of both numbers is 7. 7 only multiplies into a X0 number when multiplied by a 10....

A few interesting points: Even though I am not an authority in Q by any means I would like to comment on your altitude point. I found GMAT question sto be significantly different than GMAC. They test the same concepts. But the real deal is really heavy on traps and trying to test whether you see th...

My practice track is distorted a bit since I was struggling to get a routine going. My test today was at 8am. So I desperately tried to wake up at 5 to write those sample tests at 8. It didn't always go well since I didnt seem to have the discipline to go to bed early for the longest time. Big ups ...

Whoa, way to kill it! Nice job. My MGMAT scores are similar to yours, and I noticed that your V score ranged from V38 to V47... any tips on such a huge improvement? I'm fluctuating between V40 and V44... would love to push that up some. Native English speaker, and I do fairly well with most things l...

I believe that the 85-95 hit rate should be fine for 700+, though I don't have exact numbers. You are also counting the hit rate for last 50 questions, which are supposedly more difficult. For my self assessment breakdown for each section overall in my practice: PS: 95 - 100% DS: 95 - 100% RC: 90 -...

I'm not sure how accurate this tool might be, 'cause I put in my profile with a 730 score (haven't yet taken the gmat) and it gave me the same results as BlueRain: Optimal Schools Stanford University (CA) Harvard University (MA) University of Pennsylvania (Wharton) Massachusetts Institute of Technol...
