3 GMATS in 4 Years, Looking for Advice
Hi there, I sat for my third GMAT in 4 years this morning and walked out with a 640 (Q44, V33). In late 2011, I took my first GMAT and scored a 610 (Q44, V29). In January 2012, I scored a 620 (Q43, V32). Geographically, I am restricted to applying to colleges in the DC area, so I am looking at Georg...

I think you're asking the wrong question. Official questions (even the "easy" ones) are worth their weight in GOLD because they are showing you patterns for how the official test-makers present concepts. It doesn't ultimately matter if you get a question correct or incorrect, you should b...

Hi SepticRevo, How have you scored on your most recent practice CATs? And how do those scores compare to your Official GMAT scores? I've always been a pragmatist about this whole process, since the GMAT is standardized and predictable. A full-length CAT is the best way to "measure" your a...

Hi SepticRevo, The term "easy" can be deceptive, since a question that you consider to be easy might be "ranked" more difficult by the actual GMAT algorithm. In that same way, your approach to certain questions might be far longer and more complex than other easier approaches. T...

GMATPrep Software Question Bank Considered Too Easy?
Hi, I've used the free GMATPrep software for the 2 free GMAT tests (640 Q48, V29 and 650 Q45, V35) and just recently started working through the 90 free problems that are included in the practice section. However, I was wondering if they are considered easier than expected GMAT questions. I've burne...

Hi Rebecca,
So if we were to cancel our score and retake it a month later, the report would only show the score we accepted? I'm trying to determine if the report will show something similar to a college transcript when a student withdraws AFTER the deadline.
Thanks!

Hi Rich, Thanks for the insight. Your latest practice CAT score is encouraging. However, it does come with one "red flag" that you need to think about: You skipped the Essay. By definition, this CAT is "unrealistic" since you went straight to IR and didn't have to "endure&qu...

Hi Everyone, Thank you for the valuable insight. I just completed GMATPrep #1 and scored a 640 (Q48,V29) with an 8 on IR (skipped essay). I was hoping someone could provide some insight on the test difficulty in comparison to MGMAT. Is Quant easier on the actual test in comparison to MGMAT? I know V...

The GMATPrep CATs do allow you for review, but they're remarkably "thin" on information. You can see which questions you got correct/incorrect and you can see the correct answer for each question, but that's it. There are no explanations and no ranking/progression information. A thorough,...

Hi Vivian, Thanks for the response. My test date is July 23rd. I started my MGMAT course during the first week of May and have had a family vacation planned since January that will start on July 26th. If my score isn't up to par, I would consider taking it again, but would also need to know if schoo...

In 2011, I took a Kaplan course during my Senior Year of College and studying for that fell by the wayside when school became too busy. Other than that, I'm just using everything MGMAT gave me.

Can you provide insight?
Hi. I've been taking a Manhattan GMAT test course since early May of this year. I've been tracking my progress in a spreadsheet and haven't seen the improvement I was hoping for. As a someone who is retaking the test after a two year hiatus, I've been grinding through work, as opposed to a few years...
