Done & Dusted - 510 to 710, Via 640 twice

Hi All, I celebrated the end of an almost 2 year journey, a journey I should have completed in less than a fourth of that timeline. As I look back, I believe that a little lack of proper guidance in the beginning and very poor execution are the reasons for the delayed completion. I write this debrie...

Hi Experts, The week before the test I was sick and on the eve of the test I'd to be rushed to the hospital. Nevertheless, I took the test and I'd a bad test day. I ended up scoring 640 (AWA6, IR6, Q44, V44) as I did in my previous attempt. Surprisingly my quant score dropped by 3 points and my verb...

Thank you experts for your views. :) For these last few days, just give a few mock tests. It doesn't matter whether they are new or older ones. While you give a mock test, make sure you spend double the amount of time in analysing your performance in the test. Just go through each and every question...

Need Guidance | Best plan? | GMAT in 8 days

Hi All, I am taking the GMAT on 9th December (next Tuesday) afternoon (the center is 2 hours away, so morning is ruled out) The last time I took the GMAT, I was scoring upto 680 in my GMAT prep mocks (Q47 constant, and V fluctuating). However in the real thing I felt the last 10 to 15 Q questions in...

I was stuck between E and C here. I eliminated E thinking that in the last 5 years (including the year in which 12MN (Yr 5 - and not Yr6) and 10MN (Yr 4) tins were sold) the industry was in a declining trend. So had the company not advertised so heavily in Yr 5, its sales would have been much lesser...

Wow! See what I found with a little googling! :P A star is always regularly shaped! 1. The sum of the angles formed at the tips of the five pointed star is 180; the sum of the angles formed at the tips of the six pointed star is 360. 2. The formula for the sum of the angle measurements at the tips o...

Let's start with the most unusual shape, the pentagon inside the star. For any polygon with n sides, the sum of the interior angles = ( n -2)*180. Thus, the sum of the angles inside the pentagon = (5-2)*180 = 540. There are 5 angles inside the pentagon. To make the math easy, let's plug in 540/5 = ...

Question is simple, wherever Mitch has taken the value as 36 in his figure, the question labels each of them with an alphabet and asks for the sum of each of those 5 alphabets.

Congrats on your great score!

Can you please elaborate on this or share the link:"Rich's podcast on psychological tactics during the test, as well as what to do during the last 24 hours before the GMAT, both made a big impact on me as well."

Good luck with your applications! :)

When a rectangle is inscribed in a circle, the DIAGONAL of the rectangle is also the DIAMETER of the circle. I think what distracted me while solving this question was the statement, "if the rectangle is not square". I knew that the diagonal of a square will certainly be the diameter of t...

Hi Michael,

I am giving the GMAT again and am looking at a score of 700+. I was getting a 680 in my GMAT prep mocks and I messed up last time on test day. I am assertive of a 700+ score. How would you evaluate my profile having said this now?

Thanks.
