gmat prep remainder question
Hey I understand why "c" is the answer, but for curiousity sake I cannot actually figure out what the value of r would be and how to solve it. Any help on this? If "n" is a positive integer and "r" is the remainder when (n-1)(n+1) is divided by 24, what is the value of ...

You know that 2 * a number and 3 * a number must equal 288, so they key is figuring out what those numbers are.
3^2=9
2^5=32
9*32=288
y=2, x=5
just plug x and y in for the solution!

GMAT prep exponent question
I couldn't find this posted yet, so I apoligize if this has been asked before...
5^21 x 4^11 = 2 x 10^n solve for n
answer is n=21, I'm not sure how to get there.
