I think negating D doesn't hurt the argument.
The conclusion isn't based on public's opinion on this, its based on whether these restrictions are indeed un-american.

to negate C, Blanket restrictions on law-abiding individuals are NOT contrary to the traditions of American culture and law, destroys the argument. hence it is the assumption.

i believe this is a classic example of breaking down a number into its primes.
if anyone believes the oa is wrong please advise.
what i dont understand, is why the number is broken down into 4^2 5 and 7, rather than 2^4 5 and 7, as that would give us a different answer.

haha i was getting that for a couple tries too, thats why i posted this. the source is a blog, so maybe the oa is not correct.
p*p*p / 2^4 * 5 * 7^2 = p*p*p / 4^2 *5 * 7^2 4*5*7=140, digits together is 5.

assumption
simply put, the argument makes the assumption that the committee will vote in favor of the interests that make large contributions. choice D says that they actually DO NOT tend to vote in favor of their funding, which puts holes in the argument... so D imo.

Thanks Lisa,
It's confusing because sometimes you hear one thing in admissions interviews, and then you see another thing online, making one think that the rules are not in fact set in stone.
Appreciate the input..

gmat submission
When a school says that they don't accept GMAT scores achieved after applications have been submitted, do they really mean this? Several schools have informed me that they are flexible, while others say they won't do it. Is it possible that they have to say this and they really will accept new offic...
