Complete reversal of scores!

So I sat for the GMAT today and scored precisely what my GMATPrep tests were showing...600 :? However, I was only hoping for a mid-600 score as most of my target schools have avg GMAT scores between 620-640. Now, for the tricky part- all of my GMATPrep showed me being very strong in verbal (high 30 ...

Evaluation requested (Unsure of what to do)

I just finished my GMAT and I am somewhat surprised to say the least. I scored completely opposite of how I thought and what the GMATPrep showed I would. Anyways: GMAT was 600 (V44, Q28). I was doing much better with verbal and not so well with Quant during the practices. None-the-less, that is what...

I think the 5^2 was a typo but either way thanks for confirming and correcting.

THank you to Ian as well for the additional info-all is clear and rally helps to look at it and figure that out.

Question about factoring (should be simple)

I just want to make sure I am understanding this corectly...for some reason factoring these particular scenarios gives me problems. Anyways-stolen from the GmatPrep stuff: 3^x - 3^x-1 = 162 It seems there are two ways to factor this one through: 1. 3^x (1-(1/3)) = 162 2. 3^x-1 ((3^1)-1) = 162 Now, t...

Oh no! Can you provide more details about what happened? Pretty much, i got a very different score than what I had been getting the last two weeks in my practice tests and It made me really really dissapointed. As i know i messed up a few questions on the Math, but the Verbal I have NO idea what I ...

bha, I tam sorry if my way does not satisfy you! If I look at the problem some seconds and I have a method which can enable me to solve it in less than 2 minutes I do it. Unfortunately, we cannot always have a better choice than what we think during the first seconds. But if you can have the right ...

Sorry but I dont understand the reasoning provided above... "We know all the numbers are either all positive or all negative. " I'm not sure how are you deriving on this Why does list contains intergers with same sign... positive or negative A list can be {-10,-9,6, -2}. This also satifie...

You were given the final price and must find the original cost to the seller. I like to think of these in terms of perentage problems with the percentage formula. 80 over what amount is equal to 125%? 80/x = 5/4 (multiply each side by x) 80 = 5/4x (Divide each side by 4/5 now to get x alone) 80 (4/5...

Re: Exponent values-GMATPREPI

How do you solve for this? i am sure the question shud read like this ... 2^(x + Y)^2)/2^(x - Y)^2 ... GMAT PREP we dont except this!!!!!! anyways here we go 2^((x+y)^2 - (x-y)^2) 2^(x^2 + 2xy + y^2 - x^2 + 2xy - y^2) 2^(4xy) 2^4*1 = 16.. hope this helps.. i am sure after u see the question in the ...

Advice needed for avoiding careless mistakes and DS

I have now taken 2 Prep tests and scored exactly 600 on them. My verbal is high but my quant is low and the largest reason behind this is DS. I can't for the life of me get comfortable with them. I have been working primarily from OG11 and the OG Purple and Green and DS is my one major problem. I ge...

Are you talking about questions from OG being repeated on the real GMAT? If so, that is FALSE. The OG questions are official GMAT questions but retired. No way would they publish those to give away their test. You may get conceptually similar questions but not the exact same questions.

If you search Kaplan on these forums you will see the scores vary and many find that their actual GMAT scores can vary anywhere from 50-120 (don't hold me to those numbers) compared to Kaplan scores. The best indicator seems to be GMATPrep tests from mba.com. I'm sure others will be along soon who h...

I have been scoring significantly lower on their CD CATs...that online one really seems like cake the more I go through it.
