I called GMAC to understand how their pens are supposed to perform. They stated that the pen should be easy to write with and should create a solid black mark. They said that if you are still not provided a suitable pen after asking for a new one, then report the matter to the testing administrator ...

Kaplan scoring algorithm tends to be significantly off. The GMATPrep tests are the best indicator of what your true performance on the test would be.

VP_JIM is absolutely right. You should understand how to approach each TYPE of GMAT question. At first I tried to understand each type of question on a question by question basis, but my approach tended to have a holes. What helped me a lot was to go through the OG book and identify all questions th...

Pens Used on the Test (What was your experience?)
When I took the test, the pen was really poor. I had to press it down hard to make a mark, and even when it did put some ink down, it wasn't a thick black color, it was a watered down grey. Furthermore, if I didn't recap it after each question, it would take a few strokes on the next use to get some...

I believe the average GMAT score of LBS applicants is 680, with 80% of the most recent class scoring between 620 and 740. At minimum, you should score at the lower range. In my opinion, you should score at least at the average score. To go from a score of 500 to 700+ takes a bit of work. Most likely...

Thanks for the response mjjking. You are exactly right. The answer to the first problem is 3/7. Both these questions are MGMT questions from their CAT #5 test. The solution they provide for the second problem involves calculating the probability of each card that is drawn. No part of their solution ...

Probability Combinatorics or Just Probability?
I am having trouble differentiating between a straight probability problem (i.e. no combinatorics) and a probability combinatorics problem. Please help me identify what the characteristic differences are. Once I know what type of problem it is, I can easily attack it, but for some reason I have a ha...

A good rule of thumb is to always select an answer as soon as you come to the last question in a section. Don't confirm the answer, just select it. That way if the time runs out, your selection will be counted and the question will not be considered "unanswered".

Logitech, my MAN!!! Way to throw down. I was just thinking last week, this guy's a GMAT animal, I know he got a disappointing first score, so when is he retaking the test? Much to my delight, BAM, you slayed the dragon, you tackled the beast. Great job!!!
Best of luck with your apps!

Hi duongthang,
From reading many posts on this forum, I believe that many people agree with you. In case you are not aware, this question is from GMATPrep #1, which comes from the same source as OG (i.e. GMAC).
