Let's Develop the Holy Grail for Beating the GMAT!
Hey Guys, I've been struggling with this exam for 3 years now. I submitted my application to an Ivy League B-School for the EMBA program, with my score of 460 (27V-(45%), 27Q-(16%). The good news: 1.) The school I have applied to has unofficially accepted me as a prospective student with a big cavea...

Thanks for the responses guys. I most certainly see that replacing the tires after their worn out is a good business model, I just have my test taking filters on. Here is where I am stuck, the sentence clearly states "Rubco execs claim that the winning bid , will actually make a profit for the ...

OG -13 - Page 503 Question 11
Hi all, I am trying to understand the logic of a question that I got wrong. Please see below. The Maxilux car company's design for its new luxury model, the Max 100, included a special design for the tires that was intended to complement the model's image. The winning bid for supplying these tires w...

When in doubt, should I choose A?
I am working the SC section and have noticed that many answer choices are A. If A is not eliminated off the bat, and I am stuck with a second choice, is it better for my odds to just choose A?

Rates & Works - DS Question
I was hoping to get a better explanation of the answer for this question. Reiko drove from point A to point B at a constant speed, and then returned to A along the same route at a different constant speed. Did Reiko travel from A to B at a speed greater than 40 miles per hour? (1) Reiko's average sp...

I've done 5 full CATs with results all over the map on the verbal section (See below). I at least consistently get 37 on the quant. I am really not sure what the hell to do anymore. I feel like I am brushing with the definition of insanity. Repeating the same things over and over but expecting diffe...

I barley had enough time left after verbal and started freaking out toward the end but some how managed to get all of my RC questions correct on an extremely complicated passage. At the very beginning of the prac test, I was slammed by 8 CR questions in a row straight into RC and back into 4 or 5 mo...

Stuck at 37 Q and 20 V
I am not sure what more I can do to improve my score. I've taken over a dozen practice tests, most of them quant only, and I cannot seem to break that 37 quant level. Data Sufficiency always seems to significantly hurt my score. I feel that I can improve that by doing more DS practice, and I intend ...

Both of these solutions have cleared up my question. Thanks for pointing out that I did not complete the algebra by considering that sqrt(xy^2) has two solutions.

Another thing to consider Show me a solution that gives me a y = 0 if x = -1/2, because that is ultimately what this is asking us. If I am given an x (-1/2), and I need to solve for y, I should be able to isolate y and get 0, if this solution is correct, right? If you try that exercise, you will not...
