Look at "which includes" in the option D. It should have been used with a singular noun. But here we are talking of "effects" which 'include'.

E correctly uses the colon to list out the different effects.

Option B is still grammatically correct. A has an incorrect modifier as mentioned in my earlier post.

Scientists are not 'based on' the growth rate of reptiles. They have estimated something 'on the basis' of a study.

Between B and D, option D is incorrect because it uses like to give examples.
